Birdsong Villa (2/2) is your idyllic private retreat facing the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. Enjoy gentle breezes under a covered gazebo by the ocean or relax to the music of the waves at the outdoor kitchen/bar and be lulled to sleep at night by the sound of the waves. Perfect for your intimate wedding venue. Follow the walking path to a nearby beach, surf or keep going explore "Basti". We offer reliable internet service, hot water, a queen room with a/c, and a fully-equipped kitchen. The home is tropically designed with an open floor plan and a comfortable front deck great for watching the sunsets. Each room has its own fan and windows to let in natural light. There is ample closet space for storage of clothing and baggage. Fans in the kitchen and dining areas provide added ventilation. All windows are screened. The path on property leading up to the home is illuminated at night. The kitchen is equipped with all modern appliances including a refrigerator, hot water heater, charcoal filter for drinking water as well as kitchen utensils, pots, pans, dishes, cups and silverware. A massage table is provided for your use.

Die Unterkunft ist toll. Gut ausgestattet, wunderschöner Balkon mit herrlichem Ausblick. Es ist ruhig. Melanie hat direkt vor der Unterkunft ein kleines Lokal mit gutem karibischem Essen und toller Atmosphäre eröffnet. Melanie ist eine sehr gute Gastgeberin: Freundlich und fröhlich und hilft beim Organisieren von Touren oder Taxiboot-Fahrten. Baden ist direkt an der Unterkunft nicht möglich. Die Unterkunft liegt einen kurzen Weg vom Hauptort entfernt. Der Weg dorthin ist etwas vermüllt. Old Bank ist interessant aber eventuell auch nicht jedermanns Urlaubstraum. Von dort aus kann man aber schnell mit dem Boot überall hinkommen. Preise zum Redfrog Beach zb 7 Euro pro Person.
Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez Mélanie. L’endroit est magnifique, très calme. Mélanie a été au petits soins avec nous, toujours disponible, toujours à l’écoute. Nous avons profité de ces nombreux échanges pour apprendre beaucoup de l’île de Bastimentos, petit paradis à visiter absolument.

The area is semi-remote, rustic and tranquil, removed from the lively night scene in Old Bank, the Basti town center. It is a 10 minute walk to the main park where you can take the water taxis.
We recommend NOT bringing roller-style suitcases as you will be walking over sandy and rocky paths. Backpacks are recommended.
As there are no cars on the island, you will be traveling on foot everywhere so you may expect to get a fair amount of exercise. There is one main path along the shoreline which is 'maintained' subject to the moods of Mother Nature. Be reminded that we depend on rainwater for our water supply and catchments to store the rain water .
There are no cars on the island. We are on the main path which runs along the shoreline right in front of the home. A couple spots along the way may be a bit uneven. The path along the shoreline is not suitable for biking. Good walking shoes are highly recommended.
