Don’t wait, book now. Our family had the absolute best stay at Manolis’s Villa. We drove about 2 hours from Heraklio Port, but the drive was okay and manageable with beautiful views. The house came fully stocked with eggs, fresh fruit, cheese, wine, water, butter, bacon, coffee and more. He went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable after traveling from Texas with a 4 year old. We explored the nearby beaches and our favorite was Falasarna Beach which is about a 40 min drive. The beach has sun beds, food, activities and pink sand. The house has beautiful views, a gorgeous pool, bbq pit, nice sun beds etc. The house is located near 2 very nice restaurants that you can walk to, a church, a hotel with a restaurant, spa, a market etc. this villa has everything you need, don’t wait.. just book now! Manolis goes above and beyond and if you are looking for a home away from home in paradise, this is the right house for you!

This is a superbly equipped and located base for exploring western Crete and the Chania region. The pool and garden is clean and welcoming, the views down the Valley are spectacular, and you can see both the sea and snow capped mountains from your breakfast table. With eggs and oil from their land, honey from neighbours, and a healthy slug of raki thrown in, you will be hard pressed to find a better place to spend your time in Crete. Highly recommended.

We can't say enough about this wonderful villa and Manolis as host. We stayed there for 4 weeks in Sept 2018. The location in Spilia village is just perfect for exploring Western Crete. Chania is only 20 minutes away on the National Road, the entrance to which is just minutes from the villa. There is a lot to see from this location, even with just short drives. We arrived to find supplies already on hand, such as coffee, cheeses, fruit, tomatoes, olive oil, bread, wine and raki. Everything was locally produced and absolutely delicious. In addition to all of this, Manolis dropped by with treats every now and again that were just lovely. He is a very kind and welcoming man, and we really enjoyed our conversations, and his tips for travel and sightseeing. The villa itself is extremely comfortable. The beds are great, the sofa is perfect for lounging (and napping), you have everything you need in the kitchen, and the grounds are lovely. And the View! You can see the White Mountains off to one side, and the sea to the other. There are olive trees in the yard, and all over the surrounding hills. It is really beautiful. Spilia village is very small, and the people there are most welcoming. We spent most evenings at the Taverna Platanias, just down the road a bit from the villa. The brothers who run it are very friendly, and the food is excellent. Actually, the food is very good wherever you go. Fresh and delicious. The Cretan diet is so good for you! We will be going back to this villa as soon as possible, and for longer next time. It was our best vacation ever, as we fell in love with Crete.

What an amazing place to stay. There are so many things to say, I think it is best to break everything into groups. Location: Spilia is a quiet, quaint town located just 2 miles from the sea. As you can see from the pictures, the views from the villa are absolutely beautiful. There were only a few restaurants in the small town, but they have very good food and the friendly staff treat you as family from the second you arrive. The Taverne Platanias is a short walk away with great lunch and dinner, while the elegant "Spilia Village" hotel just past that offers an amazing breakfast buffet with a charming atmosphere. Spilia is centrally located in the western region of Crete with a variety of things to do within an hour drive. The coastal town of Kolymvari is just 2 miles away with great touristy trinket shopping and amazing seafood. There are a number of beaches including Elafonissi, Falasarna, and of course the famous Balos. There are caves with shrines, churches, and scenic views within walking distance. Ask Manolis about the local cooking classes, you visit a farm to pick fresh vegetables and herbs and experience Cretan hospitality and culture first hand. Samaria Gorge is a full day hike relatively nearby and Lake Agia offers a serene place to have coffee/lunch. Platanius is a $20-25 taxi ride away if you want to drink with the locals/other tourists (Club Mylos doesn't start getting packed until 3am). Chania is only 24 minutes away and is the second largest city on crete with its own large number of activities nearby (we recommend "secret beach" called Seitan Limania to locals). We were here for a week and packed 2-3 things to do every day and still missed out on a number of things. Villa: The pictures barely do it justice. It was clean, fully stocked with towels, dishes, cookware and all other essentials. Manolis also stocked Greek coffee, local cask red wine, white wine, local liquor (Raki), bread and butter, local honey, eggs from his chickens, and fruit. It receives plenty of wind and cooler temperatures due to the elevation. AC in each room. Maid service every few days. Host: Manolis is an amazing host, he sat down with us when we arrived and recommended a number of activities and answered any questions we had. He was accessible throughout our stay via WhatsApp. He brought homemade food and was always welcoming and helpful.

The house is fantastic, very big, every room has a private bathroom with all the necessary. House is very clean, quite and in a strategic position, very near to a major highway. The house has a big garden with a fantastic pool and it's perfect for a bbq with friends. Manolis, the host, is very kind and available and very reserved. We recommend this fantastic house!
