This cabin is on a nice lake with a new dock, but it did not prove to have the value for the price. The interior is dated back to the 1950-60s. Water quality was an issue so we had to purchase all water we needed for consumption. The shower was not clean and the drain was super slow. We were told there was a paddle boat and 2 kayaks, but we found out after 2 days that the paddle boat was broken so not available, which limited water activities for part of our family. Ring your own water or yard activities. Toilet paper and paper towels are limited so take extras, as well as a towel for the kitchen. Bring your own firewood for the fire pit.

While the location is excellent and the waterfront is beautiful, the home itself is outdated, dark, and dirty. Cottages like this can be absolutely charming, but it's so out of date that the kitchen is hardly functional for cooking and the bathroom is in desperate need of cleaning and updating. You are paying for the location.

The Great: Northland Vacation Rentals was great and communicative our entire trip. The location of this rental is absolutely perfect, with a very large front yard on a beautiful spot on the lake. The new deck was perfect for renting a boat all week. The furniture outside was very accommodating and the fit pit was perfect. The outside of the house is perfect for a Northern Mi get away. The No-So-Great: the rental itself is very outdated, dark and dingy. The furniture and beds weren’t comfortable, and the chair had heaps of stuffing coming out of it. The Knick knacks around the house gave it a weird vibe. The pictures made it seem a lot lighter and brighter than it actually was. The kitchen was very poorly equipped for cooking (only 1 pot..) Overall, we lucked out because the weather was absolutely perfect and we spent very little time inside the rental.
