Few residential communities are surrounded by so much natural beauty as Perico Island. Located on the eponymous island between Bradenton and Anna Maria Island — “perico” means “parakeet” in Spanish — the neighborhood is blessed by proximity and easy access to pristine Florida terrains. The 679-acre Robinson Preserve, a bird sanctuary, lies to the east, while the 176-acre Perico Preserve borders it immediately to the west. Residents can go bird watching, walk and hike on miles of nature trails, enjoy kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding, and catch-and-release fish from their own backyards. Perico Island is a flourishing tropical setting with interior lakes and ponds. Many roads are canopied by large trees that were there long before the community was developed. Our home has a large pond out back, just a block away you will find the much larger lagoons that offer panoramic vistas of Robinson Preserve’s lush wetlands. All of Perico Island's residents enjoy resort-style amenities. A community clubhouse, fitness center, heated pool and spa and tennis courts overlook one of the lagoons.
