El Tapojo, in the area of ​​the Turrialba Volcano, is a place characterized by its tranquility, peace, and natural beauty. The place is special for bird watching, for species like the impressive Quetzal, many varieties of hummingbirds, and even owls. You can also go hiking in the surrounding areas, take a guided tour to the top of the volcano, practice mountain biking, take a tour through a forest burned by volcanic ash, right next to the volcano, and visit beautiful waterfalls in the town of Santa Cruz of Turrialba, approximately 30 minutes away driving from our property.
In Santa Cruz, you can also find supermarkets and other services, as well as shops to buy the delicious Turrialba cheese (unique in the country), custard, yogurt, and other dairy products in the area, since it is a dairy and agricultural region. The closest restaurants are about 20 minutes from the cabin, in the little town of La Pastora. In addition, you can visit the impressive Guayabo Archaeological Monument, about 45 minutes from the property.

You can get to the property in any type of vehicle (preferably with a high ground clearance), but a 4x4 is recommended for ease and peace of mind. There are 3 routes to get here: one of them, passing through the town of La Pastora, has the road in better condition (mostly asphalted, and approximately 2 km with a gravel road before reaching the cabin) so it is the route that we recommend to follow. The other two routes are for 4x4 vehicles only. It is currently not possible to get close to the property by public transport, but there are buses that travel from Cartago or Turrialba and reach the town of La Pastora, about 12 km away.
