In Fall 2022, we rented the small river house for a little over a month. The Shenandoah Valley has a magnificent display of Fall colors, and warm people. The hosts are attentive and have a great relationship with the neighbors. Surprisingly, the neighbors are close by and very helpful. The house is quaint and comfortable. IMO, some of the best features are the front windows that provide unobstructed views of the river, the updated kitchen, the cozy gas fireplace and the water cooler. Something that you may need to consider is the 1.5 mile bumpy gravel road that leads you to this private river access & house. We did not mind the road leading to the house. It just added to the unique experience which we like but keep in mind your car will get dirty. We recommend this rental, It has all the basics and a few extras, a convenient location to Skyline Drive, Belle Grove Plantation, the Virginia Arboretum. Grab a bite at the Blue Wing Frog (music on Thursdays) and explore treasures at the Royal House of Modern & Retro. We enjoyed our stay and think other nature lovers will too.

This place is perfect for a couples retreat. My girlfriend and I came to the Shenandoah area to take in the fall foliage. This place was perfect for that. 20 minutes to Shenandoah national park 10 minutes to downtown front royal and a short drive to Winchester. The big window in the front of the house is perfect to drink your morning coffee and look out over the river. This place is great for a nice getaway with a short drive to a lot of attractions.

Great, out of the way, quiet location right on the water. Beautiful views of the river from inside and outside. They had two kayaks there for our use. We will definitely be back!

Nestled in a secluded area on the Shenandoah River, you will love this peaceful get-away. The house is cozy but has plenty of outdoor space. Well-appointed kitchen; a stacked washer & dry set; a cute bar-height dining set; super comfy beds and living room furniture. There’s a great spot to fish or swim, as well as a fire pit, right across the street. Neighbors are super/friendly. Definitely recommend and would stay again.
