Our stunning Mississippi riverfront mansion was built 1868 in the Italianate architectural design, complete with it’s original carriage house. River’s Bend is nestled on the river’s edge below limestone bluffs with grand and majestic views of the river’s sharpest bend and framed by the historic Black Hawk bridge. Our 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath, 8 room house is rich in comfort and amenities for 1-8 people. Relax and watch the Eagles soar over the lazy river from the covered porch or take a short stroll to the quaint shops. Wake to a beautiful sunrise over the historic Black Hawk Bridge with our gourmet coffee and the cozy slippers we offer for you to lounge in the comfort of our spacious home. Sprawl out in three separate living areas where everyone can unwind with a good book, play board games or put puzzles together.

Rivers Bend is a beautiful home with lots of space and everything you need for a great time! Downtown Lansing, groceries, drinks, supplies and the marina are a few minutes walk. Ellen is an amazing host!
Spacious home on the Mississippi River! Well-cared-for home with rooms for both children and adults. The wrap-around porch provides relaxing areas for watching the world go by! We walked to downtown Lansing, enjoyed the Skinny Dip Ice Cream store, coffee shop on the river and children's park with splash pool. It was easy to rent a pontoon boat and travel up and down the river. This is a delightful home with everything we needed for a holiday weekend.
2nd time staying here and it is absolutely perfect. Coffee on the front porch watching the river in the morning is the best.
We all really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful historic house along the river with its wonderful views in the charming town of Lansing. It was perfect for our small family gathering with very comfortable, lovely furnishings. Ellen is a great host who really made us feel welcome - we look forward to returning!
River’s Bend is a welcoming, warm and beautiful home. The house and surroundings are immaculately clean, well-supplied & homey. Outdoor entertainment areas are comfortable and offer such beautiful scenery. So many wonderful amenities shared for the guests. I highly recommend River’s Bend and will be booking again! Thanks for such a fantastic weekend!

River’s Bend is located in a quiet residential neighborhood only a couple blocks south of the Lansing City Marina where you can enjoy summer drinks at the Tiki Bar after a day of boating on the river. Or walk a few blocks to downtown Lansing to shop the local boutiques and enjoy a night out at the local restaurants.
If you are feeling energetic, take a nature hike to Mt. Hosmer Park and take in the majestic view from the bluff’s top and see three states (Iowa, Wisconsin & Minnesota). Hike, bike or snowshoe the park’s trail system and afterward enjoy a picnic lunch at the Veteran’s Memorial Park which offers a shelter, playground and public restrooms.
Take a scenic drive in Lansing along the Great River Road National Scenic Byway (Hwy X52). Follow the Mississippi River between Iowa’s southern and northern borders on the Iowa portion of the Great River Road National Scenic Byway.
If you’ve had your fun on the river, dip your toes in the waters at the outdoor Lansing swimming pool where the entire family can enjoy the lazy days of summer.
Just south of town is the new Driftless Area Education and Visitor Center. Learn about the cultural, recreational, natural, and historical significance of the Driftless Area.
Lansing offers indoor and outdoor activities for everyone.
Lansing does not have public transportation but our home offers private back door parking or public street parking.
