Fox Barn is a 19th century hay barn (the annexe to our house across the drive) converted into cosy, self-catered holiday accommodation with a private, outside space and secure bike store. Moreton is a popular Cotswold market town with transport links to the adjoining counties of Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire. Fox Barn is on a quiet road next to countryside walking routes and the High Street just a couple of minutes walk away. No smoking on property.

My wife and I had a very comfortable one-week stay in Fox Barn. Downstairs, the living room is well-furnished, with two comfortable "chairs-and-a-half" and a generous-sized dining table. The kitchen has updated appliances and is well-stocked, including a handy dishwasher. The stackable washer and dryer also worked well and allowed us to pack lightly. The upstairs bedrooms have comfortable beds and the updated bathroom. Noise was never an issue. The cottage is also ideally situated, both within the town and in the Cotswolds. With the train station a short walk away, you can easily reach Oxford and many Cotswold locations. And with the high street just on the next block, it offered convenience without any noise or bother. Deborah and Peter were lovely, and were responsive when we had questions. On the day we left, our train was cancelled, and they couldn’t have been kinder, offering to allow us to stay a little longer and to use their phone to call a driver when our cell didn’t work.
Debby and Pete are the most wonderful hosts. They have thought of everything and make guests feel very welcome. Fox Barn is ideal. It is immaculately clean, very comfortable, and the kitchen is very well-equipped. The location is great for travelers with or without a car (like me). It is the lovely heart of the Cotswolds, with a train station less than a 10-minute walk and local busses connecting to other lovely Cotswold villages. Fox Barn is the perfect place for a longer stay (like mine) or shorter breaks. Thank you for everything, Debby and Pete!
The accomodation was wonderful… it is peaceful, private and only a stones throw from the high street. If anything, the pictures don’t do it justice! The location is superb with some nice local walks if you fancy it. Would recommend the Manor House hotel and Redesdale arms for a few drinks. Debby is a great host and made sure we had everything we needed, it was one of the most relaxing places we’ve stayed over the years so thank you. Will definitely return in future if we have a stay in or around this side of the Cotswolds.
Absolutely brilliant hosts, really helpful and welcoming. Location was great for us, very easy walk to all the shops and restaurants but set back enough to be quiet when you want to stay in. We had two cars so great to have easy parking on the street outside for one of them. Highly recommended for those wanting a base for exploring the surrounding countryside.
We had a fantastic time in Deborah’s Fox Barn. The space was lovey and Deborah is just the best host! We got lots of great recommendations for places to see and local pubs and restaurants to visit. I would highly recommend Fox Barn for anyone looking to explore the Cotswolds.

We are within the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Moreton-in-Marsh is a popular market town in the pretty Evenlode Valley. Fox Barn is situated on a quiet residential road within a minute’s walk of footpaths through open countryside and a couple of minute’s walk to the High Street. The High Street is a mix of attractive 17th and 18th century buildings with shops, galleries, restaurants, pubs and cafes. We’re also lucky enough to have a great Tourist Information Centre. Batsford Arboretum and Falconry, Bourton House Garden, and Sezincote House and Garden are a 30 minute walk away or 5 minutes by car. National Trust houses and gardens at Hidcote, Snowshill, Charlecote Park and Chastleton are all less than a 30 minute drive away. Several good golf courses at Broadway, Tadmarton Heath, Chipping Norton, Buford and Stratford upon Avon are less than a thirty minute drive away. If you’d like to explore the surrounding area and even further afield there are good train and bus links from the town to the adjoining counties of Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
You can walk out from Fox Barn and access some well known walking routes including the Monarch’s Way, the Heart of England Way and the Diamond Way. The start of the Cotswold Way (Chipping Campden to Bath) begins in Chipping Campden a 15 minute drive away, and the Gloucestershire Way (Chepstow to Tewkesbury) can be accessed at Stow on the Wold a ten minute drive away. There are good bus and rail links to the surrounding areas and regular trains from Oxford to Moreton-in-Marsh and onto Great Malvern, Ledbury and Hereford - a new rail link at Worcestershire Parkway will take you to Cheltenham, Gloucester and Birmingham (New Street).

We lived in a small cathedral city for many years but began to find even that a bit too busy and moved here to enjoy a slower pace of life and a friendly town where people love to stop for a chat. We love the Cotswolds for great walking and the beautiful landscape but we also enjoy being near enough to larger towns and cities for meals out and the theatre. We enjoy meeting new people and visiting different places so we travel when we can and welcome people to stay with us the rest of the time. We are sorry that we cannot accept pets and no smoking is allowed in or outside the property.
