What an amazing place to stay! We absolutely loved our mini break, even in the rain the mountains were stunning. The hut has all the essentials you need and is very cosy,although if planning to cook you may want to take grater, peeler etc with you and don’t forget ice blocks/cooler. We took a couple of folding comfortable chairs and spent most of the time on the deck looking at the mountains, but if you are walkers take your boots and plenty of walks from the cabin door. Also loads to do in the local area. We hope to be back!

The Hut was very picturesque in the mountains and waterfall near it. It was lovely to hear that and the birds, sheep and cows in the morning and evenings. We loved the closeby walks but it was slightly a little out of the way down a track to other amenities. Some slightly disturbing outside in the fridge a mice dead in one, few stains on the cover to the fitted sheet. It is a lovely setting and with the hosts instructions we found it easily. Thanks.

If you’re looking for some peace and quiet (and lots of sheep), you’ll find it here. Had a lovely stay with my dog at Elen’s place. The area is absolutely stunning and I wish it wouldn’t have rained on day 2 of our stay or else we could have done some more exploring, but we’ll just have to come back for that :)

We stayed in Ellens secluded hut for 3 nights. It is exactly what it says on the tin. It is, as we expected, basic. The mountainous backdrops in every direction are stunning. The hut is placed directly below the start point up Aran Fawddwy, which for seasoned hikers and scramblers is a beautiful trail. If you want to get back to basics and switch off from the world then this is the place. It very much is what it is. A cosy hut and welcomed base camp after a long walk. It isn't a luxurious hotel and doesn't pretend to be. No Internet, no phone service... (exactly what we needed) Light a fire in the fire pit - natures TV. It's small inside and cooking a full meal is a challenge so think simple, food wise - bring what you can cook on 2 small electric hobs. Bring lots of supplies and you'll be set. Also, follow Ellens directions to the letter. It is off the beaten track. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you, Ellen, and we really hope to come back.
