This is our 3rd time staying. We are a party of 10 traveling to the Rhinebeck Car Show. We love that we can all eat and hang out together with plenty of room. And when we want to be alone you just “walk “ to your apartment. John is very responsive. The place is clean and cozy. It is perfect for families so don’t hesitate to book !

This was a great place to stay with our family and friends and our dogs! The clubhouse is in the middle of the barn and the apartments are all accessible from inside this space as well as outside. The clubhouse has a pool table, foosball table, and darts, as well as a bar. it was perfect for celebrating my husband’s 60th birthday while we were there.. also, one of the apartments has a huge table and plenty of chairs, and we were all able to sit around and have our meals together. The apartments were all extremely clean, and the beds were all comfortable. Before we left, everyone agreed we’d like to rent again next year!

This was a hard review-Good news- the owners were very responsive and the two apartments out of 3 were loaded with snacks and fairly clean and comfortable. We 4 friends go away a lot & can have fun anywhere! We thought to try something different with the billiards table and a big bar. Not Good: No billiard balls, that room was dingy and dark with Wrappers & confetti & pillow stuffing on floor- needs updating as couch & chair were gross. The 3rd apt. that we were very excited about, and I believe paid for; which was the largest and had planned already to have one lunch & one dinner at the dining table & 2 would sleep in those bedrooms. Well…The smell from that kitchen area was rancid -we spent No time there. They have had complaints before which we had read in the review books. We asked for some type of reimbursement…which I doubt we will see. Room could not be used due to smell. Our feelings: This place is fun for young big groups who love being messy without a care in the world.

We spent Christmas and New Year holidays with extended family at the Barnhouse. It was ideally suited for our gathering as we were all able to have our own apartments but lots of space to gather for communal meals, games and activities. It was warm, comfortable and rustic. John and Dorothy went the extra mile and decorated the place for the holidays for us as we were traveling across, which was a lovely touch.

Perfect for our family Thanksgiving. Lots of space. The pub was a fun hangout.
