The mountain house was in a very private and peaceful location. It was very comfortable for the 5 of us traveling to the area to bird. We wanted to be close to Elk Knob State Park and we were right down the road which gave us so much flexibility. The beds were comfy and the sheets were clean. Great room and kitchen were open and good for a group. Not many cooking essentials like salt and pepper, oil, etc. If you cook, please bring anything you will need. Some of the non-stick pans were very scratched and should be replaced. But all in all, the pots, silverware, glassware and dishes were sufficient. The floors and under beds could have been cleaned better. The front porch was very nice even though the windows were dirty and hard to move. Some of the screens had holes so those windows couldn’t be opened. I would recommend the mountain house for group or family get togethers if you would like a private place in the mountains.

The location of the house is exceptional as the area is very large. The layout of its spacious rooms and 3 bathrooms makes it special for the whole family. It is fully equipped with a kitchen, game room, BBQ grill, and smoker. You have many entertainment options. Patricia and Brian always promptly responded to our questions. We will use this house again for our next vacation and will suggest it as the top choice in the NC mountains to our friends.

What a fantastic place! We had so much fun at this rental! The kids enjoyed the game room. We enjoyed nights by the fire. Each family had their own bathroom! Such a nice set up! It was truly like a hotel with common living areas. On the last day it snowed and we had so much fun on the big hills out front. Really wish we had brought our sleds. The views were absolutely beautiful! The owners were fantastic! Pet friendly! Absolutely want to stay again!
