One thing that the owner doesn't disclose is that she lives at this property. Not on the property, but in the house. The place is small and there is no closet or dresser space for guests because her things are in there. We made a reservation for 4 nights, so that's 5 days of living out of a suitcase. It felt weird being there in a home that is lived in and didn't feel like we could get comfortable at all. The place was not very clean and a bit dingy. The fabric on the furniture was frayed. We were celebrating our anniversary and we kept getting texts from her that she will be stopping by to get things. This made us feel very uncomfortable. We left our home so that we could have some quiet and private time without interruptions. We did enjoy the outside space and lake setting, but we ended up spending only one night there and the other nights in a hotel, although we paid for four nights. The day of our anniversary, we checked in a hotel and was glad that we did because at an inopportune time she texted to say she was coming to get something. I guess if she didn't live there, she wouldn't have to come back so often. My husband is allergic to cats and I believe she owns one. He was ill from that. We requested that she reimburse us for the last night and she refused.

This cottage has everything you need to unplug, unwind, and relax in an idyllic setting on a quiet lake. The host is incredibly helpful and communicative. You will not be disappointed if your goal is to get away and escape to a secluded, beautiful spot.

My family of 3 and our dog enjoyed our stay at Heidi's cabin. It's the perfect place to unplug and enjoy some time together as a family. We swam and kayaked in the lake and learned some new board games on rainy days. Heidi's cabin was quiet and peaceful but also close to Sturgis which had all we needed for groceries and supplies. Heidi's communication was prompt and friendly and the cabin was cute and comfortable.
