... and I'm so glad to be part of this amazing community! I was born and raised in Germany but moved to Cape Town in 2003 where I finished my masters in Journalism and Media Science. I instantly fell in love with our beautiful country, its different cultures, languages and most importantly its KIND and OPEN MINDED people and decided quickly to make South Africa my forever home. Empowering and helping people, organisations and projects in need is my life. I will almost always run a passion project or be involved in some kind of charitable work. In addition I run my own business utilizing professional and suitable volunteers from overseas who continuoulsly support various local social and ecological projects through their time, skills or through financial contributions. I am a devoted family person and love spending time with my husband, my two children and our two fur babies. We love to travel and explore, are 4x4 and camping enthusiasts and try to go on adventures as often as we can. In 2018 we took the chance to go on a 10 month working holiday and traveled through Europe and Asia - a time we thoroughly enjoyed and still cherish. After our travels we moved from Cape Town to Ballito in search for more tropical weather, warmer water, a relaxed coastal lifestyle and to tackle yet another project that's always been high up on our bucket lists - designing and building our dream house in a safe and beautiful environment. The project took almost two years and occupation took finally place in November 2020. Here we are now - in our house built in Simbithi Eco Estate with the most beautiful forest and dam views - happy, grateful, trying to live life to the fullest. What's life in Ballito like you may ask? The short answer would be it is simply amazing and we love all about it. The weather, the safety, the natural beauty, the friendly community that strives to continuously work together to create the perfect work life balance with family being on top of the priority list. We love to start our days early with a walk along the beach or a quick swim or surf before school and work - often surrounded by dolphins or turtles. Meetings or catch ups with friends or acquaintances are preferably held lying on surfboards waiting for the perfect wave or at one of our favorite coffee places by the beach. I thoroughly enjoy my late afternoon runs through the costal forest or watching my children fish in one of the dams or riding their bikes until the sun sets. It is easy to be happy and at peace here on the Dolphin Coast. However, the travel bug is still biting and I long to continue making beautiful memories with my family. That's why I became an AirBnB host and decided to share our home while we are away with positive people who are looking forward to taking a break, immerse in our relaxed costal lifestyle and explore Ballito and the many things our small town has to offer. “There is only one very good life.
