The view is priceless. However the house needs some TLC. Main level bathroom floor is weak, kitchen cabinets are in shabby condition, hot tub has missing buttons. Received a text from the property management asking if it was ok for someone to come out and change thermostats at 9am. I asked that they not because we were on vacation and wished to not be disturbed, was told that was fine but they showed up anyway. Otherwise, really enjoyed the home and trip.

Very bad check in experience ,lock code was not provided even after several follow up and finally responded at1.45 am, middle of night. Dead cockroaches , soil on bed, bunk bead broken, cabinet door broken, ceiling in one room coming off

I’ve used vacation rentals a few times and have never had a problem until this one. First, let me say that the kitchen was clean. And although I didn’t try to find fault, some things couldn’t be ignored. (1) I was notified a week before my arrival that the time of check in was 6 pm. My contract said 4 pm and I had scheduled travel to arrive at that time. When I called Vacasa, the rep said upon her review, I had received conflicting information regarding check in time. She said she would look into it and get back to me. Later that same day, I called again and another rep said the same thing. I never received any response. (2) We arrived at 6:15 pm and found the place with filled wastebaskets, food smeared on the dining table and kitchen counters, sheets/ blankets on unmade beds, dirty bathrooms, no towels and the floor dirty. I called the number to report the problem. I was told the cleaning crew would be there in 5 minutes. 30 minutes later, I called again since no one showed to clean, indicated it was a safety issue and was called back. The crew arrived and cleaned the house. (3) While the house was being cleaned, we went for a walk on the boardwalk to the waterfront. I’m uncertain as to what caused this but on both sides of the walkway in the water was raw sewage. It smelled terrible and was certainly not what we expected. We looked forward to walking in the water at the edge but knowing this, did not. (4) After returning from our walk, we went on the back deck and the first thing I picked up was a cigarette butt. I know smoking was not permitted and preferred it. (5) Instructions were left to roll the trash can to the indicated spot on the map. The previous tenant did not do that. Since the trash can was full and as tall as I am, I told the Vacasa rep about it as I didn’t feel responsible for getting rid of the trash. I rolled our can out to the spot. (6) I called to report there was no water in the bathroom upstairs for the shower, sink and toilet and the first floor bath had a problem with the faucet for the bathtub. He said he would put a work order in for the tub as something was wrong with the divertor. No one ever came back to fix it. My daughter had to bathe my grandson in the kitchen sink for the remainder of our stay since the tub faucet didn’t work. (7) The white ceiling fans in the living room and bedrooms are black with dirt/ dust. I wouldn’t turn them on. The white cold air return in the dining room is also black with dirt/dust. (8) The first floor windows and screens are so dirty, one cannot see the beautiful views outside. (9) The hot tub room looks nothing like the photo in the advertisement for the house. The tub and room are old, rusted and dirty. The controls on the tub are broken. A cockroach was found in the filter and a few under the mat. (10) The blinds had a layer of dust on them. The shower liner in the upstairs bathroom had black mold growing on the bottom of it. (11) I realize that cockroaches are a problem in the south but this was out of hand. Most were around the carpeted stairways and at the entry door foyer. I had one crawl out of my purse and my daughter found one in the clean diaper that she was going to put on my grandson. I have included a picture of the roach she killed in the diaper. With all of this, I had 4 guests that were going to arrive the 2nd day but they cancelled when they were informed of these conditions. Two guests left after 4 days. Another two guests only stayed for 3 days. My daughter and I stayed until the 26th and left after the roach incident in the diaper. This is a beautiful home but needs a thorough heavy duty cleaning and extermination service.
