We loved our stay! The log fire oven was a massive bonus on cold nights after long hikes, the underfloor heating was fabulous, and the water pressure in the shower is exceptional! We had a great experience all in all, just what we hoped it would be. It should be noted, however, that you will need a car (or a bike?) to get around, and the house is located 20 metres from the road (the add led us to believe it was a little more remote than that). But it was no problem for us at all, other than the occasional truck passing by. Its not too loud otherwise.

Marrieclaire and Stuart are fantastic and this review does not reflect them whatsoever. Unfortunately, it would appear cottages are not managing the property well at all, and this isn't something the owners are being made aware of. I sent a number of messages on Airbnb without any response at all. I had to call cottages myself on the day of check in to get instructions on how to access the property. Finding the property at night is difficult as there isn't much lighting. On arrival, there was an immediate damp smell in the bedroom. We had to wash the bedding ourselves. Corners of each room had notable webs and dust, etc. The property clearly hadn't been cleaned to the standard you'd expect for a large progressional company like cottages. The property itself is lovely, well appointed and in a fantastic location. Marrieclaire & Stuart were immediate in dealing with any issues - they cannot be faulted. A pleasant stay in a wonderful part of the world.

Excellent location for exploring Northumberland in all it's beauty. The Coach House is well equipped and spacious, with beautiful outdoor space for relaxing in after a day exploring.

The property is in a great location, a short drive from Alnwick. The property is decorated tastefully and a good size for a couple. The bed is very comfy as is the living room area. It was great having a drive to park the car. It was a good sized kitchen with all appliances. There were problems with our stay when we arrived. The property sadly felt like housekeeping hadn’t been throughly completed. Basic/expected Items were missing from the inventory or items were very limited for a 5 day stay (eg only one toilet roll). There were some minor cleanliness issues. We did communicate with the host/owner and housekeeping came the next day to resolve things. It was a shame to start the stay in this way. I appreciated the owner and housekeeping responding promptly. This could be a great Airbnb with some small improvements to housekeeping.

We had a lovely stay. Everything was comfortable and as expected. The host was very helpful. The house felt spacious and we felt at home.
