Really beautiful spot! We arrived very late at night so didn't get to see the place in its full glory until morning, but man was it a gorgeous place to wake up to. We got a bit turned around trying to find it but I think would have been much easier if we'd arrived before sunset. The surrounding area is incredible with Soda Lake and the Carrizo Plain National Monument right there. Sadly we were just passing through, wish we had more time to spend. If driving south, would recommend stopping at the Cuyama Buckhorn in New Cuyama for food--such a gem. Very under-rated, lesser known region of California, IMHO.

If you're looking for calm quiet solitude in the middle of a vast open space, with practically no one else around for miles and miles, surrounded by wildflowers and birdsong (at least in April!), this is the place for you! We loved the remoteness and being so alone out there, it was great! The sunrise and sunset from the plain were fantastic and the night sky was impressive too, shooting star included!! I highly recommend this little get away in the middle of nowhere!

Really lovely and remote place to stay that’s close to Carrizo Plains. Wildflowers in the area were beautiful and the sunset, night sky, and sunrise were amazing. Place is cozy and mattress is comfortable. The propane heater kept us nice and warm. ‘Toilet’ worked well enough. Great place to stay for a night or two.
