Come and relax in 'Sunrise' our stunning waterfront 1 bed/1 bath duplex apartment. Modern and stylish, fully furnished with quality furnishings and beautifully decorated. Queen bedroom, large walk-in shower in bathroom, stainless steel appliances and quartz countertops in kitchen, 50" tv with netflix and hulu free channels, wi-fi, washer & dryer. Furnished patio with gas grill and dining area. Complimentary use of kayaks and bicycles. Use of dock with views down canal to Matlacha Pass. We have spent a lot of labor and love renovating this cute Matlacha cottage to a modern standard but wanted to maintain the 'character' of Matlacha. For anyone needing a 2nd bedroom for all or part of their stay in our 'Sunrise' apartment, we have a separate studio apartment with kitchenette and bathroom located at the front of the property available for weekly rental (see separate Seasprite listing on Airbnb). We have citrus trees and banana palms and guests are welcome to help themselves when in season. There is a 4000lb boat lift on the shared dock area available for weekly rental at $50 per week; pls contact me for availability. We love animals and we allow one small, well-behaved pet (upto 20lbs) with prior approval.

The stay was fabulous! We never wanted to leave! Karen and her partner, Yvonne, are the best hosts! They are so welcoming and full of information. Knowing very little about the area, they were a great wealth of information. We loved the variety of birds that would come to visit daily. The place is perfect in all areas. Not to mention, the place was pristine! The pictures don’t do it justice! I would highly recommend staying here to anybody; as the cost is super reasonable and stay is amazing! I honestly can’t thank the host enough for the experience!
What a pleasure it was to stay with our gracious host! She supplied everything we needed, leaving us with nothing left to do but sit back and enjoy a relaxing time. What fun! We are thankful to have been able to share this experience. I believe we will take a little piece of Matlacha with us always.
Best Airbnb for us in our 4 week vacation in Florida. Spotless clean, nothing to miss, absolutely perfect. The bed is very good, bicycles and canus, smart TV and Karen is really a 5 star super host. We will miss this gem in Matlacha
This is a great place, with with everything you could need within walking distance, make sure you wake up for the sunrises there only a short paddle away
Karen’s Sunrise suite was absolutely perfect for our four day stay. It was super clean, had real dishes, a comfy bed, and being right in the water with kayaks to use was exactly what we needed. We’d absolutely recommend and stay again.

The charm of Matlacha is what brought me to live here in 2015. I love nature and thrill at seeing the herons, egrets and woodstorks who visit daily. We are surrounded by preserves and boating and kayaking is wonderful, we always see dolphins or manatees or stingrays. Unique and interesting shops, restaurants and bars are within walking distance. Sadly, Berts bar has not reopened since hurricane Ian.
Easy to walk or cycle as everything in Matlacha is a stone's throw away.

I am originally from the UK, I have travelled (and lived) all over the world and for the last 16 years the US (Maryland and more recently Florida) has been my home. Myself and my partner have a summer home on Grand Manan island, New Brunswick, Canada. I love ocean and mountains and I would say that the Cook Islands (NZ) in the Pacific are the most wonderful place on earth. I am a nature lover and love where I live in Matlacha as we are surrounded by water and natural preserves full of marine life and bird life. I am lucky that I can work from home - I hand-weave doormats from reclaimed fishing rope obtained from local fishermen.
