The property is an inexpensive hotel with a very friendly and responsive staff. I arrived at 10 pm at night and, at first, was intimidated by the busy streets and crowds. But I soon realized that the neighborhood was 100% safe. At 11:30 pm there were mothers and their children walking the neighborhood. It was a good experience. I felt what it was like to be a part of the local community. The people in the streets are nice and respectable. It's a decent and respectful spirit in the air. Yeah, okay, the room wasn't crystal clean, but for $12 dollars I was completely satisfied. And the air condition worked and was cold! I wasn't there for the room. I was there to meet the locals and find a couple synagogues. And that mission was successful. Also, Haitham and his staff were there for me at all times. If you want a clear vision of down to earth Cairo, then here it is. Enjoy the spiritual journey and the kindnesses and respectful behavior of the locals. Shalom!

Mahmoud was easy to communicate with. I arranged with him for airport pickup & his driver was ready at airport (although he overcharged me!). At hotel, Saeed, Osama n Abbas made it easy for checkin. Made me a room available to put my stuff as I reached early. All the shopping markets are nearby where you need to bargain hard but Abbas was star! He exactly told me where to buy each item for! Helped with Shisha shopping. Overall great 1-day stay! Would recommend anyone for staying to visit the markets

Mahmoud's place is great. I loved his staff, especially Abbas. They were really kind and considerate, often inviting me to have meals or tea with them. They also handled all of the logistics of my COVID test for me which was incredibly kind and generous- the doctor came straight to the hotel which saved me a ton of hassle. I would definitely stay here again, considering the excellent location especially- it is one of the few Airbnbs in Islamic/old Cairo. It is very close to Al Azhar and Al Hussein masjid, and steps away from restaurants, cafes, and stalls where you can buy snacks, drinks, etc. I also think this Airbnb is a really good value for your money- not at all pricey and the room is good, with everything you need. I actually came back to this Airbnb because it really did suit my needs. I would definitely come back again. The only thing I will say is that the wifi does not really work. I had to switch rooms multiple times, and they ultimately gave me the room that supposedly has the best wifi, but it is so slow that I had to switch to data. For guests without data/a SIM card, they will likely be unable to access the internet here.
