Positives: BEAUTIFUL VIEW, big spacious cabin, responsive host. Unfortunately its "long in the tooth". House sleeps 8 people but only had 5 dinner plates, 6-7 coffee mugs, no cork screw and 3 unmatched old chairs around the firepit. One bathroom was locked upon arrival. Linens were low quality and poorly fitting. Master balcony was covered in leaves and mold, actually spongy to walk on. Kitchen was so poorly lit, we had to move a lamp into the kitchen just to see. Countertops had pieces of laminate coming off. Couches were worn and rips were repaired by the owner. Master sliding door would not lock. Driveway is so washed out that my stepson got stuck the first night, had to have a neighbor with a 4-wheel drive pull him out; and the erosion prevented us from driving our firewood down to the firepit, so we had to roll it down the hill. Great house and layout. Could have easily accommodated 3 separate couples due to the house design. One couple per level. Host is super responsive. Nice area but your phone maps will not take you to the right location. Gets you close, but not the right place. 15-20 min to Blue Ridge down town but the fist 8 min of that is all scenic so it seems much faster. If you bring a car, make sure its front wheel drive and not a car with low clearance. The driveway will eat it up if its washed out. Looking forward to our next visit

Our family had a wonderful weekend together to see the fall colors. The home was beautiful and we enjoyed watching the train go by and waving to the passengers. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

We enjoyed our place. It was very quiet and private- exactly what we needed. We had ample of room inside and outside. Kitchen is more than equipped for cooking. Internet is spotty as expected and was ok for us as we were looking to disconnect. Instructions and video to the destination was perfect. The driveway can be scary for a car - we had a truck so all was fine since we prepared after reading previous comments. We highly recommend Erik’s place and we would definitely come back.
