This is a great location right on the rail trail and ideal for our 2 nights of cycling and hiking. Nice to have easy access to the river for the unseasonably warm weather. Cottage is huge, lots of beds, and would be great for a large family or 2. The biggest issue was the cleanliness of the cottage. The recycling bin and the garbage had not been emptied. The bathroom mirror was dirty and the toilet had a dirty ring in it...I dropped the remote behind the couch one night and it was filthy under there when I retrieved it...and there were mouse droppings on the side table and kitchen side table with the coffee maker and toaster. With it getting colder it's understandable mice are looking for somewhere warm but having droppings on surfaces is gross. We also saw a couple mice darting around inside. We mentioned our dissatisfaction about the cleanliness and mice and they did refund half the cleaning fee unprompted, which was a nice gesture. Don't think we'd stay here again.

Swimming in the Gatineau River is lovely - the children loved the lilly pad attached to the floating dock - and my daughter put in many kilometres on the railway trail.

Highly recommend Jennifer and Jon's place. Beautiful location, very cozy cottage/house, even better than the photos look.
