Very peaceful cottage right next Nature Reserve and across the road from the Hotel Atitlan. Richard was a very attentive host and came by to make sure everything was OK...which it was. He gave us history of area and great tips for things to do. The kitchen was fully equipped and we cooked a few meals with local fresh produce grown right near the cottage. Parking out front. Plenty of hot water for four people and the bedrooms are spacious. It's is just outside of town...but with car...5 minutes. If you have no car, tuks tuks are available and inexpensive. I highly recommend.

I stayed here for over two weeks. Richard was outstanding as a host: communicative, warm, responsive to all my inquiries. He took care of every issue, such as, for example, the TV's lack of signal, the broken shade, and the sudden lack of hot water. The house is lovely and well-equipped. The only disappointment is something that Richard has no control over: the occasional incessant barking of packs of dogs who roam up the road close to the house after midnight. However, this is a problem one can find in many places in Guatemala. Just a few considerations for those who do not have a car. The location is outside of town, so you can either take a tuc tuc taxi for $1.30 when one by chance passes by, or you can walk but be careful since that the main road to town has no shoulder, and traffic is heavy. Otherwise, the house is a very short walking distance to the Natural Reserve, a must see, and to Migoya's, an excellent restaurant with a spectacular view of the lake.

Un hermoso lugar, cuenta con muchas comodidades. Esperábamos encontrar la hamaca de las fotografías pero eso no afectó para nada la estadía. Hay muchas cosas que hacer al rededor y está bastante cerca de Panajachel. Richard es muy atento y amable. Espero volver.
