Relax in your cosy wooden cabin on the shores of lake Taupo with a geothermal hot pool. The cabin is 15 meters (or 15 seconds walk) from the main house where we live and where you’ll be able to use the shared bathroom. We have 2 cabins and you might see other guests. The scenic historic Tokaanu wharf is at the end of our road (few min walk or drive there). Great views of lake Taupo. We are pet friendly but your pet must be well behaved and completely under control at all times. Private, cosy and comfortable wooden cabin with queen size bed (we have a portable cot with a mattress in it that we can set up if required), spare bedding and pillows, portable heater in winter and portable fan in summer, block out curtains, books, 4 PowerPoints to charge your devices, unlimited Wifi, cellphone reception and lock on bedroom door. Plenty of room to park your car right next to your cabin. Towel provided. Kettle, tea/coffee, herbal tea, uht milk, sugar, toaster, cutlery (plates, bowls, cups, wine glasses, cutlery) and hair dryer in the cabin. There are 2 chairs on the porch of the cabin to relax (sheltered from the rain) and an outside table to eat. We are only 5 minutes drive to Turangi where there is a big supermarket New World. We are only 20 min drive to Ketetahi carpark if you are doing the Tongariro Alpine crossing. We live 6,5 km from the Turangi visitor center where intercity buses pick up/ drop off are and where the shuttles to the Tongariro National Park depart. If you stay with us it is highly recommended to have a car as I don’t always have time during the day to provide shuttles to/ from Turangi. In case you really need a ride, I charge 15 dollars for a ride to or from Turangi visitor center.
