Patrick was the best AirBnB host we’ve ever had! We were greeted by Patrick and given a personal tour. The home was quaint and unique. It had so much character and so many amenities. We spent our days exploring nearby Glendalough and took the train to Dublin from Rathdrum. At night we enjoyed drinks and games while listening to Patrick’s extensive record collection. We were also excited to meet his other mates - pups Popeye and Jellybean. If you are in need of a place in the area look no further!

There are so many positive features: friendly and social hosts, very comfortable beds, pillows and linens, a fully stocked kitchen, breakfast supplies, music, fireplace with unlimited wood and two friendly dogs. We arrived after 3 weeks of travel and relished the comfort and respite. There are many hikes and walks and Patrick is there for advice. We were sad to leave such a restful, beautiful airbnb.

We had an amazing stay with Patrick! The cottage was absolutely magical, and although we had rainy weather, we were able to enjoy the house and fireplace with a nice warm cup of tea while we waited for the rain to stop! The house was better than described, and Patrick was so incredibly thoughtful. We enjoyed the banana bread waiting for us upon our arrival along with eggs, milk, and a very well stocked kitchen. Patrick told us he was a chef in one of his previous lives, and it was obvious from the outfitting of the kitchen. The beds were extremely comfortable, and each room had all of the things that you needed for a comfortable experience. The bathrooms had nice hot water, strong showers, and lovely quality toiletries. The highlight, the baby lambs at the door each day! We also loved Popeye & Jellybean who visited us often. I would highly recommend staying here if it is available, and we will be back! Maybe when the rain stops lol.

Great stay! This place is a gem, a haven of peacefulness, surrounded by nature, a very warm and cosy place to come back to after a day outdoors. It felt like home away from home, and Patrick and Ros, who gave us the warmest welcome, have gone above and beyond with local suggestions aplenty (hikes, food&drinks, attractions…) and indoors relaxation in a tastefully decorated cottage. We will come back!

Really enjoyed the stay. Patrick was a very friendly host. The cottage itself is very welcoming and cosy with some nice features like a wood burning stove and a fully equipped kitchen. Great location c 10 minute drive to Glendalough and some other hiking locations. Overall would recommend.
