We went up to Avery to do some fly fishing on the St Joe River, which I had done numerous times before. I had always camped there but the weather was turning and I needed wifi for a zoom meeting, so we stayed at Avery Schoolhouse B&B, with Kathy and Randy. We had a great stay. The room was very comfortable - great bed, well laid out with a sparkling clean bathroom with high end fixtures. Kathy made sure coffee was ready by 530 every morning and breakfast was made around our schedule. We cooked our own dinners two nights on one of their grills and they provided plates, utensils, etc. This is a nice feature because the restaurant options in little Avery are very limited. Randy is still working hard to make changes to the building and I look forward to seeing how they turn out. Two bonus features that I don't think are mentioned in the listing are the cool pets guests can enjoy -- two small, well-behaved dogs, Charlie and Louie, and, coolest of all, Scratch, an African desert tortoise!

Located in a 100 year old school on the St. Joe River Scenic Byway, the Avery B&B is as authentic as it gets. The room was comfortable, and the bathroom had been remodeled nicely. The location was perfect to take advantage of outdoor Idaho.

We enjoyed our stay at Kathy and Randy's Avery BnB. The restored school house was quite historic. Our view was beautiful. The bed was so comfortable and the room was full of lovely decor. The location was perfect for our bike ride along the Old Milwaukee Scenic Trail.

We went to Avery to have a peaceful place to spend our 35th Anniversary and ride our side-by-side in the mountains. The Schoolhouse location was perfect for that. Kathy’s Schoolhouse B & B was unexpected and fun. The rooms are the old classrooms with added bathrooms. The bed was comfy and everything was clean. I loved the old textbooks and children’s books that were decorating the room. Kathy was so accomodating with everything. She runs a relaxed environment and her breakfasts are delicious! This is the perfect home base for your Avery adventures!
