My dog Zola and myself had another great stay at The Dallenbach Ranch. We once again stayed in the Fisherman's Cabin, or as I've come to call it "the little cabin on the river." With the recent sale of the ranch, it seems this will be my last stay. I'm really gonna miss that little cabin. I had great fishing as usual, but it was if the river knew it was the end of an era, and sent me off with a bang. I finished with 21 trout brought to net and released over 3 days of fishing, and while those numbers are not unusual for the Frying Pan, I caught more big fish than usual. I caught 10-12 trout that were in the 16-18 inch range, and they were all very chunky. Staying in a cabin that is literally yards away from the river is an awesome experience. Grilling steaks riverside, and later sleeping with the sound of the river ever present have become cherished memories for me...not to mention all the amazing fishing I've experienced. I'm really, really going to miss that little cabin! :(

Wonderful cabin sitting directly on the Frying Pan! We spent more time outside on the deck or by the fire pit listening to the river run than we did inside. But the inside was clean and comfortable with everything you might need. Host Courtney was very communicative and quick to reply to any questions. Great location and we’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

What a special place. My husband and I, and our two dogs, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A great escape from the Texas heat. Can’t wait to come back.

Since I've stayed in this cabin multiple times over the past year, it's no surprise that I was once again very happy with it. It was just myself and my golden Doodle Zola again, and it was a great stay. The fishing was very good, with my 5 day total being 24 trout. I used the grill every night, and had a fire riverside in the fire pit a few nights. I brought a folding e-bike this trip, and that was a game changer for running into town for supplies, or upriver to fish. It definitely helped to extend my fishing range. I definitely will be checking for available dates in the pretty near future! :)
