Great ocean views, in a beautiful and quiet location

Great location and views. Only 0.5 mile from restaurants and grocery stores. Just off the highway and very close to Mendocino Highlands State Park. House is old, rustic and upgraded. Bathtub in the Master Bath was very small. Appliances in kitchen - dishwasher, sink were very old. Only 2 single use bath soaps and shampoo were provided for 5 people for 3 days.

I really enjoyed this place. Something about the wood interior and the quirky cottage layout appealed to me. It felt both cozy and spacious. Plenty of room for us to be together or separate if we chose to. The view is great! The 1/2 mile walk to town is easy enough in the day but I didn't want to do it at night because of the traffic on Lansing rd. It's an even shorter walk to the coastal park.

The house was just as advertised and a very comfortable place to stay in lovely Mendocino! The owners clearly loved the place and this vacation home has lots of interesting touches which give it a personal and lived-in feel. The views are amazing, quiet property, and just over the hill from the town. Very convenient! The property is managed by Vacasa, a vacation property company. While adequate, their home instructions were boilerplate, referring to amenities (like washer/dryer) that don’t exist. The DSL internet was not working when we arrived, and when I wrote to tell about it when we got into town (no cell signal at house), I received quick responses, but they were very general suggestions. The DSL/internet fixed on its own, and really wasn’t a big deal to us either way. I’m sure Vacasa would have eventually fixed if it HAD stayed broken. I note this only to point out that you won’t feel like you are communicating with owners, or even local managers. All in all a lovely place!
