The place is outdated, there were a lot of dead insects in the house which was uncleaned when we checked in. The kitchen utensils were dirty and needs to be replaced. However, the Host was very friendly and accommodating. The bathrooms and bedrooms were clean to sleep in. The heated floors in the bathroom were definitely a plus. Overall, place with great potential, just needs to be updated and cleaned.

One of my favourite places so far and I will definitely return with my family. Breathtaking views and house. We made some beautiful memories with our entire family. The hosts were amazing, so accomodating and supplied last minute things and I think that’s what I appreciated more than anything. Thanks Rob and Jane for making our stay a really special one. We are definitely booking again in the winter.

We spent a wonderful, relaxing New Year's in Hoturoa at Montrose Estate. The house was set up perfectly for a group of our size with excellent facilities throughout, particularly in the open-plan kitchen and lounge. There was plenty of space indoors and out for us to relax, both together and individually, and lots of comfy chairs to curl up in with a book. The walk down to and around the nearby lake is lovely, and being able to watch the sun set over the Rakaia Gorge was pretty special. Robert and Jane were wonderfully attentive hosts from first arrival right through to checking out on our last day. Thank you!

The views are stunning, the house is clean, comfortable and well appointed. Robert and Jane are fantastic, attentive and friendly hosts who made our stay here all the more enjoyable. This has been one of my most rewarding airbnb experiences, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a large house in the Mt. Hutt/Methven area.
