Located in a small village called Jalna (Almora) away from the hustle-bustle of the city, Sukoon Homestay, a One bedroom Kumaoni cottage is all that you need to let yourself go. At Sukoon Homestay, your day starts with the melodious chirping of birds while the the first rays of the sun fall onto the stone walls and slate roofs of your private cottage. Your breakfast consists of local Kumaoni Cuisine made up of fresh vegetables and fruits grown organically on the extensive organic farms. The entire place will be given exclusively to you and there will be no-one sharing the space with you. Spread out in 3 acres of land in the Himalayas and surrounded by virgin pine, oak and rhododendron trees with seasonal fruits and vegetables, Sukoon celebrates Kumaon in its truest sense – the spirit, the architecture and the revelry. The inn breathes tranquillity and offers you the essence of authentic India: her friendliness, hospitality & serenely balanced lifestyle.

The property is extremely peaceful with full privacy. We travelled with our dog and it was great. He had plenty of space to run around and could go on long walks in the surrounding areas. The caretaker Pratap was extremely helpful and made yummy pahadi food. Overall we had a very good experience.

Best location we could’ve asked for. Away from all the hustle bustle and commercialisation of the cities. Very helpful staff that ensured that our stay was extremely comfortable and tried their level best to cater to our needs. Weren’t able to get our dog due to the long drive but found a cute pahadi pup there. Also the host was super communicative the entire time and was there whenever we needed. All in all a good stay where we indeed found ‘sukoon’ in the Himalayas.
Decent stay house. Great for offbeat getaways. 👍

You can go for a nature walk around the property. There are a lot of trails which leads to different locations. Do visit the local village and witness the lifestyle of the Kumaoni people.

- Almora, Nainital, Bhimtal
- Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary
To reach Sukoon Homestay, you should take the route via Bhimtal and Dhanachuli to Jalna. Please note that the last 1.5 kms to the property is a dirt road, however if you are used to driving in the mountains, it should not be a hinderance.
