The tranquility and beauty of the Kerala backwaters combined with the ocean was exactly what I needed. Sibu's home is a balm for the heart and soul. A quick cycle to the beach for early morning and sunset swims, charming restaurants and cafe's - all within an easy cycle ride. I spent hours swimming in the Arabian Sea, looking out over the backwaters, reading, and dreaming. Shibu is the most magnanimous host. He went out of his way to make my stay as comfortable as possible, cooking meals, taking me to places on his scooter and engaging in great conversation. He owns an ayurvedic hospital, which means massages and consultations with an ayurvedic doctor are easily made possible. I highly recommend Shibu's homestay!

Amazing stay . We have visited Cherai multiple times but then this time the visit was more special all coz of host Shibu. He suggested great restaurants and also he owns an Ayurvedic hospital hence we got an opportunity to try out Spa , which I would say is the highlight of the whole trip . Amazing room with peaceful atmosphere and great view of the lake . Even though the room didn’t have an AC, the wind from the lake and weather was just enough to keep us cool . The room looked traditional and exceptionally maintained . Also the location is easily accessible to main Center . We are planning a longer stay at Cherai coz we are more excited to experience yoga and Ayurvedic treatment , which would be easily accessible from this particular home stay ! Thanks again for hosting us and making our visit really special !

It was a delight to meet Shibu and stay at his tranquil home. He was the most accommodating host, preparing food and tea, organising taxis, making good recommendations and even arranging an Ayurvedic massage at his local clinic. He was there when needed, respectful and non intrusive. The space was simple, clean - basic but provided all that was needed. The veranda's and views were quite magical over the backwaters and lagoons. I would definitely return!
