Amazing experience! Perfect host, beautiful place. The staff is very friendly and food they prepare and serve is fantastic. The house is old but well maintained, so our stay was very comfortable. The surroudings are beautiful as well. You can learn a bit about the history of Bengal. And what was crucial for us the place is easy to reach: train from Kolkata takes only 2hrs and the station is not far from the homestay. We are already planning to come back when we'll back to Kolkata next time.

'Ethereal' - the only word that comes to mind for this incredible trip. Steeped in the history of ages, Amadpore has been nothing less than a revelation. Right from the warmth of Srikanto Da to the inexplicably delicious cooking of Horo Da, our stay has been an unparalleled experience. Shiladitya was a charismatic host who took out time to enlighten us about the rich history and heritage that makes this place. Truly a Zamindari escapade which you can quickly settle yourselves into. I really enjoyed my stay at Amadpur. Staying at the heritage building gave me an unforgettable impression. The ceiling in the room was very high and the walls were thick. I could feel the atmosphere of old times. The host was fully accommodating to my requests. Bengali food was very delicious. I also enjoyed interacting with local staffs very much. I look forward to the next opportunity to visit again.

The Amadpur Rajbari provides a genuinely wonderful opportunity to experience the extremely rich cultural heritage of the ancient zamindar houses of West Bengal. The host, Shiladitya Choudhury, is an amazing person with a true awareness of the engrossingly rich history of his family and a genuine eagerness to uncover these untold legends long lost into the abyss of oblivion. Mr. Choudhury's wife, Mrs. Rupa Choudhury, is a wonderful story-teller (with an amazing voice) and a very good person at heart. In addition to the charming rajbari, the village of Amadpur also provides a wide diversity of pleasing experiences, ranging from the views of the lush green paddy fields to a number of (old and dilapidated) terracotta temples with intricately detailed sculptures on their walls. The 'bot-tola' of the Nishanka Asram in addition to providing a calm and serene ambiance, perhaps suitable for meditation, is a witness to some of the most thrilling rural legends (which I'm not going to spoil by giving it away; experience it yourselves). Overall, I would say that my stay in the Amadpur Rajbari was really a thrilling and engrossing experience.
