Nestled amongst the beautiful rural landscapes of Raglan, Victoria is our little 8 acre property Valdara. Wake to the sound of birdsong and stunning sunrises. Spend your day exploring the Grampians (40 minute drive) or relax with a book by the fire. See the stars from your private balcony. Here is a chance to get away unplug, regroup, and reflect in nature. The Grain Store Cottage is a charming country studio space, fully contained with ample kitchen and bathroom amenities. Suitable for a single or a couples, this quaint 25 sqm cottage is equipped with a pot belly fire to keep guests warm, a comfortable queen sized bed and homely nooks to enjoy some quiet time. The kitchenette is equipped with a microwave, fridge, gas cooktop, pots, pans, dishware and glassware. We supply drinking water, a selection of tea bags, instant coffee, milk, sugar, Salt/Pepper and cooking oil. There is a charcoal bbq on the deck (please check fire regulations). Charcoal is available in Beaufort. (please confirm in advance if you wish to use it ) Please clean after use Please remember mattress’s and pillow support is very personal thing we manage to keep 90% of our guests happy but unfortunately you can’t please everyone.

We stayed overnight at Lisa's beautiful rustic cottage. felt right at home, pot-belly fire made it super cosy, the hospitality and wildlife made it an all round wonderful stay. highly recommend.
Absolutely lovely country escape! Quiet, rustic, country getaway. Just like the pics, rustic but very clean and everything you need. Very well equipt for a grain shed. The sheep were very cute and Liza and her husband let us feed them with them. We also walked the paddock. Beaufort the next little town was like 13mins but had nice cafes, puns and amazing restaurant magnolias.
Sitting on the deck looking out over the classic Australian landscape... such a magic spot. Thanks so much for our brief but most enjoyed escape from the city in your little shack.
The cottage is absolutely charming with the amenities we used (Tv, air con, fan, heated towel rack, kettle) in good working order and easy to operate. Liza’s instructions were spot on and we had no need to contact her during the stay, though she offered support if needed. The cottage has lovely views and provided us with a bit of bird watching and star gazing. It is an easy drive to Beaufort and we took up Liza’s excellent suggestions of a cafe and pub for meals. A great place for an overnight stay in the area.

Our nearest township is the beautiful historic Beaufort. Located mid-way between Ballarat and Ararat, Beaufort is situated in a rich pastoral district.
Beaufort is lovely country town, with two decent pubs, ample cafes, a couple of historic museums, an IGA and a small local art gallery on the Railway Station. Beaufort Lake is a must to see with its newly installed Koori Arts Trail. Twice a year there is the fantastic Lake Goldsmith Steam Rally
A new edition is the Cyril Callister Museum (the Man who invented Vegemite) open Wednesday to Saturday 10 am to 2 pm
Beaufort can be reached by train or bus however the best form of transport is via vehicle. Valdara is 10km away from Beaufort via car. We are not far off the Hwy 8. and exact directions can be emailed to you. We are 40 minutes from Ballarat.
