Allegro was a beautiful cottage that served our needs, but what my girlfriends and I really loved was the backyard that walked right out to Lake Huron. We spent every night on the private beach enjoying the water and view. We got some incredible sunset photos! Even though there were neighbors, it felt very private and peaceful like a cabin in the woods. Check-in was easy and convenient. Neighbor Kim recommended The Rusted Spoke restaurant and it was great. The Jack Pine Lumberjack Show was a hit and, of course, Mackinac Island was amazing. Thank you for making our first girls' trip a success!

This home is charming and comfortable, with a beautiful view of the lake. Everything was clean and comfortable. Diane was very responsive to questions and concerns. As stated in the listing, there are several large dogs next door, one of which is aggressive. I underestimated how bothersome this would be, as the dogs are left outside at all times when the owners are away. The one dog barks every time you come in or out, and 100% of the time you are grilling or around the house. We brought our dogs and the dog barked and charged the electric fence almost every time they were outside. We were able to sit outside by the water without the dogs without any barking. Diane was very responsive and offered a refund; we opted to stay as we had driven 7 hours to get there, but I wouldn’t have paid so much for a place that allowed dogs had I known we wouldn’t be able to have them outside. Another minor issue is that the windows in the bedroom don’t open, so it was a bit stuffy at night.
