T4516 Red Rattler 1950 Train Carriage at Little Valley Farm offers a unique SLOW-STAY experience for eco-conscious and adventurous travellers on a working alpaca farm. Satisfying your craving for the outdoors and your penchant for a good meal, a nice glass of wine, and a comfortable bed. It's nothing like a hotel. Instead, your carriage opens up to beautiful valley views. Our farm is in a small, beautiful, slightly remote valley surrounded by bushland. Our paddocks are home to the local Wollaroo, wombat, and lyrebird favourites. Our train deck is perfect for hanging out and watching our alpacas, donkeys, guinea fowl, and chickens move about the farm. Rustic Red Rattler 1950s Train Carriage: + Spacious bedroom with Queen bed and alpaca duvet, + Rustic kitchenette with small 12-volt fridge. (No freezer), + The Kitchenette has a gas hob and a kettle, + Coffee, Tea, olive oil and flour, + Kitchenette has a pizza dough rolling bench plus lots of bench space, + Plenty of crockery, cutlery, Pizza and BBQ tools, + Undercover self-ignition BBQ, + Outdoor wood-fired pizza oven (book this in as we need 3 hours of slow burn), + Waterless-composting toilet, + Bathroom and Shower with warm and cold water, + Outdoor bath with cold water, + Lounge room with gas heater, + Hang-out deck overlooking the paddocks, + Two comfy outdoor hammocks, + Two Yoga mats, + Linen and towels provided, + Cards, chess & games box, + Firepit + firewood and a picnic rug. We are an off-grid farm, and the train is only 12-volt, which means limited lighting and electricity. You can charge your mobile during daylight hours, but that’s it. There are also solar lights and camp lights. The train is NOT insulated, but there is a gas heater in the lounge area and lots of heavy alpaca duvets in the bedroom for winter - true 'glamping' style! **Winter will be COLD, and summer can be HOT inside & outside - so please be prepared for the elements as you would when camping.*** Things to note We take great care to provide detailed information about our stay, so please take the time to read our listing before making your reservation. We are an adults-only stay. No children/infants/pets. Working farm where you will see us tending to our animals during the day. The train is not an isolated cabin as it is located by the paddocks. There are three cabins, and we live on-site. The train faces the paddocks, the Shearer’s Studio is up on the hill 150 m away, and our house is 100m away. We run alpaca workshops once a month on a Sunday. You are welcome to join. I feed my alpacas at the same time every day and check on them every morning and every afternoon, seven days a week, rain, hail, and shine. Come with friends? Book separately The Shearer’s Studio with Finnish Dry Sauna. The 1950 Train Our train carriage is glamping, rustic and in its original condition. The carriage operated along Central Station for many years. Euan's dad acquired it in 1980 and it sat on his farm in Gulgong. In 2013, Euan moved it 400 km to Little Valley Farm. The train’s facilities have been hand-built using recycled and upcycled materials. We rummaged around Sydney to find 100-year-old timbers from a house in Balmain, old mirrors from the inner-west, an old laundry tub from the central coast, a claw bath from Gladesville, and old doors from Dad's shed. The train made the BEST UNIQUE STAY a finalist by ABB in 2023 and was named One of the Top Five Cabin Experiences by Australian Traveller. Cool things to note + Fantastic stargazing from the train. + Wombats casually roam the farm in the late afternoon and early morning. + The sound of singing birds in the morning is outstanding. + The best time to take photos is at sunrise. + Sit quietly in the paddock with the Alpacas, allowing them to get comfortable with you. + Alpacas are generally shy and prefer not to be petted by strangers, while donkeys are sociable and enjoy attention. + The African guineafowl birds will try and block you on the road because they think it’s funny. + Marshmallows on the bonfire are a lovely after-dinner treat. + Get to know our TINY Wollombi Village and appreciate its historic and bush setting. Serious stuff to note + We are a solar / off-grid farm & the train is rustic with an emphasis on glamping. + Be prepared for the weather conditions. + Do not feed human food to our livestock. + Rainwater is harvested for drinking and washing. + NO smoking/vaping anywhere. + Rain = mud, so bring your gumboots for the farm & for Pokolbin concerts. + Bring 2 pairs of shoes -the paddocks are muddy if you want to feed the alpacas. + Be snake-aware in all seasons and wear closed shoes. + Leave gates exactly the way you found them. + I will introduce you to our alpacas and donkeys. + Be bushfire aware and never leave fires unattended. + Hose down the firepit after use and never let it smoke overnight. + Wifi is available at our house. + BYO car phone charger. + When you are not in the cabins, please close all windows and doors.

We were lucky to enough the rustic train over the weekend, everything about the farm is so unique and special. The alpaca feeding and woodfire pizza oven were the highlights. Being off grid for the weekend, really allowed us to switch off and enjoy the moment. Daniela and Euan were fantastic hosts, sharing their world with us, it is truly inspiring what they have created. An experience we will treasure forever.

Thank you Daniela and Euan for sharing this beautiful space with us This property is a must for anyone looking to disconnect from the chaos of this world and re charge . We were there for 3 nights and did not leave the property once as Euan described us we were the stayers 🥰 The carriage is beautifully designed/ for winter pack warm warm clothes it gets real cold in the valley. Waking up to the Alpacas is wonderful and our favourite were the donkeys . The fire pit is a highlight and we were lucky enough to have clear nights with a full moon and a comet . It’s a property that needs to be seen Thank you again Daniela and Euan . We will be back x
