This is the cleanest Airbnb I’ve ever stayed at. Carla has managed this without it being sterile and minus any perfume-y or chemical cleaning smells, which is important to myself and my partner. Her home is basically the house I dream of living in. We had everything we needed and then some, but it’s also free of clutter. It’s warm, beautiful and quiet. As for the host, Carla is awesome. Her commitment to sustainability/recycling/environmental care is evident everywhere. She made sure we were taken care of while also giving us plenty of privacy. She’s the host you hope for, but don’t often get. There’s no doubt about where we’ll stay if Carla’s place is open when we come back to Guerneville. Unless of course, she’ll just let us move in! :) ***To be clear, we are Black and Brown lesbians and you never know what you’re going to get in a small town, if you’ll feel safe, welcome, etc. But Carla, Guerneville overarchingly and this place were all PERFECT.
Carla’s bnb is a destination! Beautiful place for a peaceful retreat. I loved Carla’s dedication to her garden and sustainability. Her place is filled with little tchotchkes and so well maintained. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay.
Carla is an ideal host! She is super responsive, friendly and helpful and has created a private, exquisite space to enjoy. Carla went over and above in every category and I will stay there again when the opportunity arises! thank you Carla for everything! You are awesome!
Carla’s made us feel at home. Throughout her place are plants and unique objects from world travels. The space is well designed and comfortable. Details matter; there are drawers and a closet to unpack and store suitcases, counter space in the bathroom for toiletries, curtains to darken the bedroom, a wood stove and firewood to warm the living area, slippers of all sizes inside the door. Carla has thought carefully about her guests’ comfort. She showed us around and explained the house rules. The rules made sense to us and made our stay easier.
Carla’s place is pure magic. You can tell that Carla has put a lot of thought and love into each and every corner of her beautiful home. Highly recommend it!

I am a professor of Philosophy & Religion at Santa Rosa Junior College. I travelled in Sri Lanka, India, & Nepal while on sabbatical leave in 2014, then came home via the Holy Land, France, & Spain. I've also loved traveling in Hungary & Austria & Ireland. Before my daughter was born in the early 1990's, I lived in Japan and Thailand. I did all my graduate work in Hawaii, where my babe was born. Now very much at home in Sonoma County, I love hosting guests in my little cabin 2 blocks from the Russian River. Come visit luscious West Sonoma County!
