Great place to disconnect with friends. Important you contact the owner to know what is available depending the season. For example the pool being available or not. However, Javier was great to communicate information to us after booking. Scenic views and no disturbing neighbors. Giving complete privacy for to you and nature. Will hopefully return in the cold months.

Javier's place is a must visit for those interested in completely immersing themselves in nature. The house itself is at the end of a 15 minute dirt road so it's completely secluded and private. Because it's so secluded I would recommend a big shop at a supermarket prior to arrival. We were a group of 8 with plenty of food for the weekend and never left the area. The house itself is amazing with a huge fireplace that heats up the whole house. There wasn't an oven in the kitchen however this wasn't a major issue for us as there is a lovely clay oven outside. The surrounding area was very rural and extremely relaxing. I look forward to returning again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our family holiday at Las Lomillas! Its secluded location in the heart of an ecological reserve was truly breathtaking. The perfect escape from busy working life. The house was clean, well equipped, cosy and full of character. It was my puppy’s first holiday and she absolutely loved it too! We were impressed with how secluded the house was, having to follow a dirt track from the main road for around 20 minutes to arrive at the property. We had done our research beforehand so made sure to bring plenty of drinks, food for cooking and snacks as this is definitely a property where inhouse cooking is the most convenient option (given the drive to and from the main road along the dirt track). Although, we did make our way into the town of Alcala de los Gazules and had dinner in a fantastic restaurant called “El Campanero” which we recommend. The bedrooms were spacious, clean and cosy. Bathrooms were also big and clean. We were informed upon arrival to be cautious with hot water usage and electrical appliances so as not to run our suppy dry or have the fuse blown. This wasn’t a problem as we took short showers and only used kettles and chargers in terms of electrical appliances. Hair dryers were not recommended for use (again, not an issue for us). We set off on plenty of walks from the house around the area where the fresh air and the views were incredible. There is also an official trail called “Ruta de los ratones” which is around a 30-40 minute walk from the property to get to the start of this trail. On the property itself, there was a large plain of grass infront of the house which overlooked the lake and views of the landscape. We enjoyed breakfast here each morning. There was also a pool for the summer months, a chicken coop, and even a wooden observatory which was amazing! We saw plenty of birds of prey, wild rabbits, interesting insects and cows grazing in the field below us. There was a wood burning oven outside, as well as an outdoor toilet and a gas barbecue. The entrance to the dirt track drive, as well as the property were both gated under lock and key so we felt extremely safe throughout our stay. All in all, we felt very comfortable and at home within nature which is why we are already looking at re-booking as we loved it so much. It is a must for nature lovers! We will definitely be back!

Le cadre est fantastique, la piscine est suffisamment grande. La maison est spacieuse et agréable à vivre mais pas aussi propre que les photos de l’annonce et le matériel de cuisine est vraiment rustique… Nous avons dû cohabiter pendant une semaine avec un rongeur qui a squatté la cuisine faisant des dégâts sur tout ce que nous avions le malheur de ne pas ranger précautionneusement. Juan Manuel qui a toujours été d’une grande aide à nos moindres questions a finalement réussi à nous débarrasser de l’intrus. 2 chiens vivent ici sans rentrer dans la maison, ils sont vraiment très gentils et très patients avec les enfants. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir pour passer un moment au calme en faisant toutefois attention quand on va se balader aux chasseurs le jeudi samedi et dimanche.
