Gorgeous cottage set in the grounds of an old Sugar Plantation, immersed in nature. Lovely walks, private beach and we loved the animals and family pets. Our children loved the stay and we had everything we needed. Thank you Uta for looking after us so well.
Uta and her daughters were absolutely lovely. The place is glorious, private, and unique. Felt as if we were in a beautiful tree house. Super private, secluded, and special. Solid Wifi, not sure if good for Zooms, but mostly great. If you want to go to longer beaches or do other local activitites, you will need a car, or to take local taxis. Otherwise, absolutely phenomenal! Thank you, Uta and daughters, for an amazing stay!
An outstanding value for a beautiful location. Everything was exactly as described and we definitely took advantage of the beautiful beaches next to the property. An ideal location for a more off the beaten path, relaxing vacation in St. Lucia, but just a short drive from the airport and the Pitons!
A perfect relaxing place for the start of our holiday. Uta and Verena were the most friendly, welcoming and engaging hosts. We stayed in Almond Cottage which was very private, and we loved the outdoors feel of the living spaces. Short drive to a supermarket, atm and places to eat.
Balembouche Estate is unique, charming and quirky. Uta is extremely nice and welcoming and was very giving of her time and knowledge. The Almond Cottage was large and spacious though if you are taller than 5ft6 the single beds will likely be too short for you. The property is lovely and there is lots of privacy and space for children to roam around freely. It is very rustic because of Uta’s philosophy. We loved it but it might not be for everyone. We didn’t find insects and mosquitoes too much of an issue. You just need to keep surfaces clean and put on repellent at dusk. The dogs are adorable and incredibly sweet and friendly. Balembouche Estate is very good value for the location and given how expensive hotels and food are on the island. It’s also really well located for the many beautiful beaches and local towns like Laborie and Soufriere. The supermarket is only five mins drive away. You definitely need a car to get around though. Would definitely recommend!

自我介绍
I have lived in St Lucia for over 35 years, after having grown up in Austria and Germany, and traveled throughout Asia and Europe. Balenbouche Estate was a struggling historic plantation when I first came to the island. My background in architecture and interior design, my experience living in other cultures and simple, rural conditions, prepared me for this challenge. Gradually over time, together with my two daughters Verena and Anitanja, I created a small eco lodge, heritage site and retreat center. Today, Balenbouche is a natural, historic, rustic and down to earth place, where people are able to reflect, reconnect and slow down. Over the years, our family has welcomed many wonderful guests from around the world many of which have become part of a Balenbouche community of friends, supporters and repeat guests. As the caretaker of this special place, it gives me great joy to share its beauty with all those who appreciate it.
