This is a beautiful property in a very secluded area. The house definitely needs some love, but the owner hasn’t been there since Covid started due to travel restrictions.

Staying at the Lake House was like staying for free at a friend's family cottage. The setting is beautiful, peaceful and remote. The lake is just steps from the cottage and there are only a few other houses on the lake. The house itself is very charming, with large windows offering views of the lake and forest outside, a stone fireplace, and a spiral staircase. The old appliances in the kitchen seemed to function better than the new stuff in most apartments I've had. With all of those positives being said, we did have some issues with our stay. Like staying at a friend's cottage, we found that the hosts were less communicative than we would have expected (e.g., we had to follow-up a few times to get instructions to access the cottage) and that it wasn't quite as clean as we usually find Airbnb's to be. It's also worth mentioning for those who might not notice that there is no wifi, and the reception is pretty spotty. Overall, a beautiful spot, with a cozy and homey feel - but not the most professional Airbnb operation we have encountered.

This is a beautiful place. The house is comfortable, and has many huge windows to let in natural light, and views of the forest and lake. It needs a bit of maintenance, since the owners haven’t been able to get there recently due to the general COVID travel restrictions in place. However, it is still a wonderful place to stay. The setting, on the shore of a very private lake (only two other houses), is so relaxing. My children loved playing in the lake, and my husband enjoyed having tea and reading a magazine on the dock, in the mornings. If the kids had been bigger, we would have used the paddle board and kayak. There were lots of birds that I hadn’t seen before, and we awakened to loon calls every morning. The kitchen and dining room were quite convenient and allowed me to keep an eye on the kids while preparing food and cleaning up. We had everything we needed to cook our own meals. My children also really enjoyed the loft bedroom, with its books and toys, and big windows. There was lots to entertain them, indoors and out. If you do have small children, note that the spiral staircase has wide spaces in the railing, so a barrier is a good idea to keep littles off it unless they are being closely supervised. If you are working while there, also be aware that the cellular data goes back and forth between LTE and 3G, so bandwidth isn’t always great. It was fine for me on my smartphone, just slow for my husband’s videoconferences. Deborah was very responsive and helpful, and answered my messages very quickly.

The pictures do not do it justice. Fantastic spot on a quiet lake, all kinds of great touches in the house including an awesome reading nook upstairs. The water was bath warm! We had an awesome anniversary weekend here and will be back with the kids next time!

A very beautiful and private lake. A charming loft for children. Quite a nice master bedroom on the main floor. A large space including a wood stove and cupboards under that with twin beds and another bathroom. Plenty of books and games and toys. A dock.
