The setting is magical, on the edge of the river Cher. We stayed in one of the cottages in the grounds of the beautiful château and thoroughly enjoyed using the châteaus facilities such as the huge pool and feeding the chickens. We would thoroughly recommend doing a wine degustation with the lovely host, Natalie, who was informative and personal. Highly recommend!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans un des gîtes situés dans le parc du château de Fontenay. Idéalement placé, les villages et châteaux des environs sont accessibles à vélos, gracieusement mis à disposition par nos hôtes dont nous voudrions souligner la gentillesse et disponibilité. A noter également l'accès à la très grande piscine avec une très jolie vue. Par ailleurs, nous recommandons également les vins de qualité produits par nos hôtes dont vous pourrons goûter les subtilités des différents cépages avant d'en acquérir directement au château.

Our family of four - with 2 kids ages 10 and 9 - loved staying at Chateau Fontenay's garden cottage. We loved being on the beautiful grounds of the Chateau. The pool was perfect! The kids loved playing ping pong outdoors near the pool and loved having access to the bikes (many to choose from so that we all found bikes to fit us!) for a ride along the Cher (a bike path runs right along the front of the property) to the boulangerie in the morning. The location is perfect for visiting Chenonceau and so many other chateaux. It was a quick drive to Amboise for dinner (although we also had a lovely dinner in Blere) and well-placed for a trip to Loches for the Wednesday morning market. Nathalie was so kind to write out a long list of suggested restaurants for us to try out in the area. We ate well! The cottage is rustic, but clean and had everything we needed, including a little laundry shed out back. We ate mostly breakfasts at the cottage, but there was also a grill if we had wanted to cook dinner for ourselves and a nice table to sit outside. The grassy area between us and the other cottage was good for our son to run and play football. We wouldn't hesitate to book this cottage again!

Mai 2022 Le gîte est situé dans un environnement magnifique et sa situation est idéale pour de nombreuses visites aux alentours. L’accueil est chaleureux . Le parc , la piscine ainsi que des vélos sont à mis à disposition . Le gîte est charmant cependant l’électroménager mériterait d’être modernisé. Nous recommandons vivement cet endroit et espérons pouvoir y séjourner à nouveau !

Wonderful location and incredible hosts! The primary downside was the lack of wifi connection in the apartment. We would definitely stay again if this could be updated
