Our charming gite Walnut sits nestled in the upper slopes of the peaceful hamlet of Le Peyruzel, near Daglan, next to its sister gite Truffle and right in the heart of the stunning Perigord Noir. This two bedroomed cottage has far reaching views across the valley to the hamlet of Le Peyruzel and it ancient Chateau where you can sit relax and watch the stunning sunsets Walnut is a delightful stone cottage that was once a cattle byre. It sits perched on a slope overlooking Le Peyruzel and from your private terrace you have outstanding long rolling views. You can sit and watch the sun come up in the early morning across the valley and later watch the evening sunsets from this spot. The heated swimming pool sits just beyond Walnut's own terrace with it's own private gate leading into the pool area. The gite itself is charming and filled with character, with a cool tiled floor downstairs and honey coloured stone walls and a little step down into the cosy sitting room with windows and views from all three sides. The handmade wooden kitchen still retains the original cattle stalls which are now formed into part of the kitchen space. You will find plenty of storage, full size fridge with freezer, gas hob and fan oven, dishwasher plus all the equipment you will need. The dining area has large glass doors that open out onto your terrace letting the fresh air, sunshine and the views roll in. Up the wooden stairs you will find a modern shower room with an additional rain head. The master bedroom is a genuinely lovely room with windows on both sides, it has great views over the pool and valley on one side and across the fields on the other. The bed is super king size. There is room in here for a cot or a Z bed for a toddler if required. (please inquire in advance) There is plenty of hanging and drawer space The second bedroom is a lovely room with high ceilings and has full size bunk beds plus plenty of storage too The pool sits in a spectacular position with lovely views across to Chateau Peyruzel. It is 9x5 meters and has a consistant depth of 1.5 metres. The terrace has a sunny aspect and plenty of sun loungers and is fully secure to protect children. It now benefits from being heated PLEASE NOTE The pool opens in April and is and the heater is turned on. It takes a number of weeks to achieve a temperature of 26 degrees but this will rise in the summer months.
