You’ll love the place because it's an old Mill House, an island on an island, situated on a cliff edge above the beach, surrounded by stunning views of the sea. From the house you can enjoy the sunrise and sunset on the horizon. The house occupies a position that ensures complete privacy and quietness. My place is good for couples, business travellers, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets). THE MILL The Venue An island on an island, in an unspoilt world, with no mass tourism, no street lighting, instead a glistening starlit sky, air full of the smell of the sea and southern flowers, nature’s sounds and stillness as rarely experienced. Location The property is on the island of Stromboli, in the most beautiful residential area which is called Piscita. The property is situated on a cliff edge, above the beach and it’s a old Mill House decorated with a simple ethnic chic style. From the house you can enjoy the sunrise and sunset on the horizon from the middle of April till the middle of August. The house occupies a position that ensures complete quietness. The Property The residence is made up of several units, surrounding the Mill Tower. From the main entrance a few steps lead to a inner courtyard, and from here to the entrance of the living and sleeping quarters on the ground floor. An outer flight of stairs leads to the bedrooms upstairs. In this way every bedroom is assured privacy. Each bedroom has its own terrace from which there is a clear view of the sea and beach below. The house is fully furnished and is equipped with all facilities to ensure your comfortable stay, for short or longer periods. Description of the house Ground Floor: •Living Room and Dining Room •Study room which can accommodate an additional single bed •Kitchen and laundry room •Guest bathroom with bath and shower •Double Bedroom with ensuite bath with shower •Large Terrace adjacent to living room, eating space and space for sunbathing •Dining room adjacent to the kitchen Upper Floor: •2 Double Bedrooms with wash basin and W.C. •2 medium sized terraces adjacent to the double bedroom •1 room in the mill with two single bunk beds Beach: From the terrace on the ground floor a private path leads down to the beach below, passing a small storage where beach and swim gear can be left. There is also an outdoor shower. Please note that on Stromboli there are very few beaches with parasol and sunbed as the island it’s very wild. The one just underneath our house does not have them. Amenities •Purchases from food shops and supermarkets can be delivered to the house. •There is also a post office and money machine. •In cases of medical emergencies a helicopter service is available to take patients to the mainland. •Several Mediterranean style Bars and Restaurants are situated on the island •Small boats are available for hire, giving access to remote beaches. •Excursions and visits to neighbouring islands are organised by private companies. Prices The house is available for not less than 4 consecutive days in spring/autumn time. From May to October the minimum time to rent the house is one week. Prices varies, with August being the most expensive. ¬May: 290 Euros per day - 1.900 Euros per week ¬June: 320 Euros per day - 2.200 Euros per week ¬July: 360 Euros per day - 2.500 Euros per week ¬August: 430 Euros per day - 3.000 Euros per week ¬September: 320 Euros per day - 2.200 Euros per week ¬October: 290 Euros per day - 1.900- Euros per week Arrivals and departures The island is reachable by hydrofoil from mainland Sicily: from Milazzo and Messina. From the beginning of June until the beginning of September there is an hydrofoil service also from Naples. If you book in advance there are discounted prices. In addition, from Naples there is a ferry every Tuesday and Friday at 8pm, which gets to Stromboli at 6.30 am the next day. The ferry leaves Stromboli for Napoli on Mondays and Thursdays arriving in Naples between 7-8 am. Best time to visit: It’s best to visit Stromboli in spring and summer time as connections with mainland depends on the conditions of the sea and it winter it tends to be more rough. Although it can happen also in summer that connections are discontinued, that does not happen very often. The house does not have central heating. However, if you wish to visit Stromboli and rent the house in winter time, please get in touch and we will discuss whether we can accommodate for your visit. Please note that the house does not have air conditioning although the position of the house ensures good ventilation and therefore it rarely gets very hot in summer.
