Great hospitality from outstanding hosts, amazing, panaramic views of the jungle and Prayer Mountain, delicious and inexpensive organic fruit and veggies. The pineapples are plentiful and absolutely heavenly.

I had a fantastic time in the cabin of Balang Buren & Sinah Balang Lupong. Bario is a lovely remote village in Barneo jungle. The cabin is on a quiet hill in the middle of pineapples, not far from the longhouse from the host. There is a bike available to be able to cycle around the village. There is a nice walk up prayer mountain from the cabin. The cabin is simple and nice, with great views. There is a fireplace that is nice when it is a rainy evening. The communication was really easy and the hosts were full of advices and tips to discover the area. I can highly recommend to stay there to discover Barneo and the jungle.

A unique place on the outskirts of Bario. Great for long stays and as a base for trekking into the highlands around. Ideal for those seeking simple natural life. The house has all the basic amenities, and there are organic pineapples and vegetables growing around it. There's a lot of community life going on in this rural area, and the locals are very welcoming and hospitable. The hosts are beautiful, caring people, miss them much already.
