Nous avons passé une très belle semaine dans la maison de Chris cet été. Ancienne maison de campagne sur trois étages, située dans un écrin de verdure, localisée dans un tout petit hameau avec quelques maisons seulement. Belles vaches limousines, balades en forêt et cueillette de mures à 2 pas. Pleine nature et authenticité étaient au rendez-vous. L'espace mezzanine au deuxième étage de la maison de Chris a beaucoup de charme. Les grands arbres dans le jardin, le calme des soirées d'été…Le petit village bien vivant de Royères-de-Vassivières est à 10 minutes en voiture. Avec son marché du mardi matin et la fête du village du 15 août, le trendy lieu dénommé « l’atelier » (resto-bar-boutique), le lac aux alentours, c'est une très belle région à découvrir, nous avons aimé son côté sauvage. Par ailleurs, Chris s'est montré disponible et très à l'écoute et il a vraiment le souci de satisfaire ses hôtes (lits faits à l'arrivée par exemple, flexible sur les horaires d’arrivée et de départ, etc.).

We stayed at the farmhouse near the lake Vassivière for 2 weeks . In total we were 2 couples with 2 children each and 8 in total. We had a truly wonderful and glorious summer holiday..The farmhouse is located in a small hamlet of 4 houses at the end of a no through road. It was safe for the children to cycle and explore as there was no traffic except for the postman. The house is lovely and rustic but both very cosy and comfortable with a modern kitchen and bathrooms. On the 2nd floor there is a huge attic space with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. My family stayed there and my friends with their 2 children on the the floor below which had 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. Lake Vassivière is a 10 minute drive and is a huge unspoilt beautiful lake. It's perfect for swimming, boating, windsurfing, fishing etc. Some days we went to the main beaches while other days we found our own secluded spots. We spent a lot of the holiday walking in the gorgeous unspoilt countryside, cycling along off road tracks or more often than not relaxing on the many beaches at the lake .There is a fully off road cycle track around the lake or a long walk! The house and location is perfect for nature lovers There is no wifi so we were pleased to get the children away from their gadgets for their holiday so they spent their time playing in the large garden or making camps. The owner Chris was easy to contact for advice and there were a selection of bikes, games & table tennis available etc. The best restaurant is in Royère-de-Vassivière ( 5 minutes from the lake & called L'Atelier) - it has excellent food, a small shop, a bar and bar games (there is wifi if you need it!). There are numerous other snack bars and restaurants based around the lake which are all good and inexpensive. It was the most relaxing holiday we have had for years but most important all 4 children had a really fantastic time and want to come back next year.

Amateurs de charme, d'ancien, de calme et de tranquillité, cette maison est pour vous. Parfaite pour un WE ou des vacances en famille (jeux et jouets pour petits et grands) à la campagne. Excellente communication avec l'hôte. A conseiller !
