The auberge is located in a very beautiful place in the mountains where you can see the true berber lifestyle of the locals of this village, the drive to get there is stunning. Our stay at the auberge though wasn't what we expected after reading the previous reviews. The place wasn't clean, the furniture was outdated, our rooms were not comfortable and the mattress even less. But for a one night stay to discover this beautiful place this could be whortwhile. But the biggest problem for us was the communication of the host. We stayed at the auberge as a stopover on our drive from Tinghir to the North. The national road to the North closes every Wednesday from 9am till noon(ish, could be longer potentially). Unfortunately our host, who knew we were staying at his place on a stopover failed to mention us that this was the case when we were talking about the drive and which routes to take with him, which meant we spent 2 hours behind the barricade because we didn't know we had to be there before 9am. This was quite stressful since we still had 6 hours to drive and didn't want to drive after sunset since driving in the dark in Morocco can be quite dangerous. So if you're planning to stay here on your roadtrip, be prepared for not a lot of comfort but a stunning decor from nature & if you're leaving on a Wednesday, make sure you arrive at the national road before 9am!

this is a beautiful undiscovered village where lifestyle is so authentic and true to Berber values. We dropped in here while driving from Merzouga to Saidia, and were so happy to see this delightful village. the host Larbi is very kind and let us enjoy the fruits from his garden. This is a new place and there a few things that needs improvement, which i informed the host in private. But overall, a must visit if you want to see the authentic Berber lifestyle.

Moulay, Hassan and Mohamed were very attentif and helpful to make our stay very nice. It was again very good to see how daily life in a real berber community is. I was here already last year with my daughter. Hassan and Mohamed were our guides into the cave and after we had lunch/bbq near the river. If you decide to go to this place you have to go for at least 2 nights.

This was one of the most impressing stays during our 3 weeks road trip through Marocco. After five stressful days in Meknes, Fes and Chefchaouen, Moulay really taught us what berber hospitality means in his one and only lodging house in a small berber village in the wild mountains of the Middle Atlas. Next time when I'm back in Marocco I won't do the touristic und stressful cities but directly go to Moulay, sitting in the sun at 1800m above sea level, drink a tea, smoke a cigarette and think about life. Thanks for the stay! (You don't have a rental car? Moulay can organize a pick-up at airport Fez for you.)

L'auberge jouit sans égal d'un monopole géographique incontestable qui lui permet de proposer des tarifs BEAUCOUP TROP CHERS pour la qualité de la prestation. Un discours éco/bio responsable trop bien rodé pour etre vrai. Alors que nous pouvions profiter des productions du village (oeufs, lait, jus d'orange, miel, huile d'olive), tout est acheté à la ville la plus proche. La disponibilité et la sympatie de Larbi ainsi que la gentillesse des ces employés ne sont pas à remettre en question mais c'est tout de même bien dommage de prendre tout le monde pour des pigeons. Il y a tant chose à voir dans cette région du pays qu'il est temps qu'un peu de concurrence s'y installe...
