Authentic atmosphere and contemporary comfort: fully renovated, newly equiped eco-friendly. Swimming pool in the large secure garden overlooking Cévennes. Welcoming to families (and friendly parties). At the top of the old village which lines Eyrieux river and Dolce Via (75 km for walkers and bikes in green Ardèche). At 25 km: Valence TGV (2 h from Paris), A7 and Drôme provençale. La Bastide de Mamet has always been our holiday home. We make it available to our guests with its pool games, hammocks, ping-pong, table football, bikes, swings, children toys, board games, pianos (2!), books of cooking, history or literature, the fireplace during winter evenings... To these must be added ballads in the untouched mountains around as far as the eye can see until the springs of the Loire, sports (bike, kayak on the Eyrieux river, tree-top adventure courses ...), discovery of high places of Protestant history, ruins of feudal castles, or prehistoric souvenirs as Grotte Chauvet, near Vallon Pont d'Arc. In the 2 500 m2 garden, the 70 m2 swimming pool is warmed by the sun, and secured by a barrier in statutory net There also is a summer kitchenette there (fridge, sink, micro waves). The terrace on the top of the large stone staircase coming up from the couryard to the house is equiped with a barrier for children. La Bastide de Mamet has 14 rooms: entrance, dining room, lounge with a fireplace which we use, study, library, music lounge, TV lounge, 6 bedrooms with large cupboards, 9 comfortable beds (new quality beddings) and 2 folding baby cots, kitchen and its service; more 5 shower and bath-rooms, 3 independent WC, laundry room, etc. Total at your disposal: 400 m2. Precaution: at this time, all La Bastide is treated against Covid 19 virus before the arrival of our guests and of our family.
Laurence’s home and property is one if the most beautiful Airbnbs we have ever visited. What a gift it was to be allowed to stay at this gorgeous family home ( mansion?) that literally has EVERYTHING you could ever need and then some. Laurence has poured her heart into creating a haven for her family and visitors. You can feel the warmth everywhere. Thank you and Veronique for taking such good care of us. Our only regret is that our visit was cut short. - Sakina and Frank
Fin Aout 2023 long WE en famille sur 4 générations.
La Bastide de Mamet is at the top of the old village which borders the river Eyrieux. Backwards, its garden has the view of Cévennes mountains. In the front, its courtyard opens onto the church square and the planer trees which shade the statue of the general Rampon, Napoléon's officer who was born in our house. We hear the bells of the church.
At the bottom of the village, there are a baker, a small supermarket and a welcoming restaurant, unpretentious and considered as the best of the valley: Le Touristique Louis (children menus too).
In the valley the Eyrieux runs, with bounded beaches. In the nearby village Les Ollières, you can rent kayaks, as well as bikes (up to 4 wheels for 4 people) to travel along the Dolce Via.
Valence, TGV and A7 highway are 25 km (1/2 a hour by the turning points of the Ardèche roads).
We circulate on foot in the village and on the mountain paths, by bicycle on the Dolce Via, by car for shopping in the villages and cities around (Les Ollières sur Eyrieux, Saint-Laurent du Pape, La Voulte-sur-Rhône, Privas, Valence...) and for exploring the region (and its Protestant origins).
The bus line 12 of Cars de l'Ardèche, named "Le Sept", travels the valley from Valence up to Le Cheylard several times a day, making stops in all the villages. Single rate: 3 € (half-price for people under 26). Schedules : 04 75 29 11 15 or www.lesept.fr
