Perfekte Lage. Nahe zu den Beachclubs. Schöner Aussenbereich mit Pool. Saubere und neue Innenräume. Architektonisch gelungene Umsetzung des Geistes von Comporta. Sehr empfehlenswert für Gäste die keine Küche brauchen.

Paid 5-star prices for 2-star accommodation sadly. Here are a few reasons why: - While it was advertised as not providing access to the kitchen/living room, it would've been nicer to have at least had access to somewhere we could make our own food or make our own coffee/breakfast. We had neither. We had to drive 20-30mins away to a restaurant of decent quality. - The check-in time was 3pm, but we ended up checking in at 5pm instead because the cleaner was "having her lunch". We were very lucky that we had friends renting a villa not far away to at least kill the time. - The reason we are not giving it a 1-star was because we at least had access to the pool. However, it needs figs/sticks/leaves removing from the bottom, and we weren't provided additional towels for the pool area. All of the above made it all feel like we were not getting our money's worth. Which is a shame because the place had so much potential. In hindsight, it would've made more sense to stay in a 4-star hotel, but we did lack a lot of options. If this pricing was based on the location (Comporta), then it's a little overhyped in my opinion.

This is a prefect, quiet little get away. We had the whole place to ourselves as the host was away, which made it very relaxing. However there are no amenities in the lodge except a fridge. So you can’t even make yourself a cup of coffee! That was the only real downside though. You are walking distance to one of the beaches if you don’t want to take a car, and you could also walk in to Carvalhal where there are some good amenities too. As the host wasn’t there we were a little unsure of how much of the outside we could use. It looked a little chaotic and the outdoor seating cushion looked like they could do with a bit of a clean. And the small pool was full of leaves which wasn’t very welcoming as it’s the first thing you see. A few stray cats about, as there is across the area, so be warned if you’re not a cat person. I am so it didn’t bother me. (They are pretty afraid of people anyway) We had never been to the area before so we were hoping there would be a little information pack with recommendations and suggestions etc, but there was nothing and with the host not around to ask questions, we had to discover everything for ourselves. Again fine for us, but if you’re not too adventurous then you might struggle. And finally, nothing that can be done about it, but there is a bar about 200 meters away that had an outdoor DJ playing until about 1am on a Saturday night and you can hear it very clearly from the lodge. Something to be wary of... And if you’re at the bar then it’s not a problem! other than that it is a really cute place and as I said very relaxing.
