THIS IS THE BEST AIRBNB IN FAYOUM- hands down! The house and property is way more beautiful and charming in person than the photos reflect. We made use of the grill for dinner one night and the house is just across from Ibis, the best restaurant in Fayoum. It is quiet and the pool was perfect. It is the perfect weekend getaway from Cairo.

We have stayed in many places around the world, but this one stood out because of the friendliness and helpfulness of the host and the beautiful house and surroundings. It was everything one could hope from an Airbnb. The host helped arrange a safari tour (for a great price) with locals for us, there was a fantastic restaurant a one minute walk from the house. It was wonderful for our family of four, but could easily fit a much bigger group. Highly recommended!

Very peaceful, quiet getaway from Cairo. Host helped arrange desert safari and other activities and provided information on daytime meal options during Ramadan. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Location is next to a mosque which wasn't disturbing even though it was Ramadan and the calls to prayer were frequent. Better coffee options would have been welcome but we brought our own. Beds are firm which we loved. Pool was super clean. Very relaxing stay.

This stay at Dar Khan was a much-needed relaxing break from a busy work schedule. The setting -- garden, agricultural surroundings, lots of birds, farm animals in the adjacent fields, view of the lake and the desert beyond -- is idyllic. The host was very kind and accomodating, and the caretaker is also very helpful. He built us lovely warm fires in the firepit each evening after we returned from dinner at a nearby restaurant. The hewn-stone architecture is lovely and blends beautifully with that of the nearby mosque. The swimming pool was refreshing and is oh-so-lovely. We had our breakfast each morning in the garden -- a wonderful way to start each day. And the caretaker kindly arranged for a desert safari to the Wadi al-Hitan, which is an amazing place to experience. This is my second stay at Dar Khan, and I hope to return again and again.
