Soggiorno fantastico . Posizione ottimale con grande valore aggiunto della spiaggia privata veramente a due minuti dall’alloggio. Mare stupendo. Alloggio dotato di tutti comfort . Ringrazio per la disponibilità di Alberto e Francesco. Esperienza da consigliare .

We stayed in one of the flats at the Free Beach Residence in Costa Rei for one week at the beginning of June. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and we would recommend to rent a flat there to a couple who is looking for an excellent location to enjoy the vicinity of the beach at their convenience. The good: 1. The residence is private and protected by key-operated gates; we felt very safe and whilst the beginning of June is admittedly still out of season, we enjoyed how quiet and chill the residence was; it felt very family-oriented. 2. The vicinity of the beach to your doorstep is a great perk; we were not always lucky with the weather, but being so close to the beach meant that we could go and leave as soon as we saw the weather changing. 3. The loungers and the umbrella provided were very handy; I also saw the residence staff putting up the umbrellas and the lifeguard tower as stated in the listing; 4. There is actually a huge variety of eating out options in Costa Rei, in neighbouring villages, and in the bigger town of Villasimius; recommendations at the end of the review. 5. Alberto was great to communicate with over the phone; he was very prompt to reply and was very solicitous in providing us with recommendations throughout our stay; the pdf guides provided were also very helpful and a nice touch. 6. Having the kitchen outside the flat was not as weird as we first thought, and we actually enjoyed cooking outside and eating outside in the veranda-like space; the kitchen was actually very well equipped (it includes a kettle) and made cooking in the flat extremely easy 7. Being off-season meant that we could easily find parking outside the main gate of the residence, but otherwise we also appreciated having the private parking at the back of the residence which had an easy connection to the flats. 8. The man who met us, Francesco, who seemed to be the keeper and maintainer of the residence, was friendly and seemed approachable in case any assistance was required during our stay. The bad: 1. Whilst we found the flat clean, there was a musty smell in the air and in the cupboards, and we soon found out that the flat was rather damp, with water pooling behind the sofa and the washing machine. 3. Whilst this was not a problem, it is worth pointing out that the pictures in the listing do not reflect the flat where we stayed; this may be because Alberto rents out more than one flat and the arrangement may change between one and the other; the overall layout in the pictures is representative of the flat we stayed in, but the one in the pictures looks more polished. Recommendations: 1. We ate the best fish-based fair at ‘L’Aragosta’ in Costa Rei. Not cheap but not super pricy either; the tuna, octopus and calamari were amazing. A bit of a long wait because they have few stove burners and lots of tables, but it’s worth the wait. 2. Best ice cream was in ‘Gelateria Chiccheria’ in Villasiumius. That place is a gem and extremely forward-thinking by providing organic, sustainable gelato and tasty vegan options, including strawberry, lemon, and mango sorbet and dark chocolate sorbet. 3. We bought some delicious traditional biscuits from the bakery ‘Su Civraxiu’, as recommended by Alberto. It is a short drive away, but it’s worth it for the taste, originality, and authenticity. 4. We had some very tasty pizza at ‘Bar Pizzeria Capo Ferrato’, as recommended by Alberto; the dough was delicious; however, the evening mosquitos did banquet on us as well; so in the summer evenings I’d recommend sitting inside.

Sono stato con mia moglie la 2a settimana di Giugno. Tutto perfetto, casa con tutto ciò che serve, stoviglie nuove, a disposizione 2 lettini ombrellone, mare comodissimo con lunga spiaggia di sabbia fine adatto anche per bambini Comodo anche per servizi come ristoranti, supermercato. Alberto disponibilissimo per ogni necessità.
