Saint Croix Falls · 农家乐里的独立房间 · 1室1床1.5卫 · 可住1人 · The Sunset Room at a Swedish Farm/Women Only
This retreat is good for those who love nature, quiet, and simple living. The Sunset Room is in an 1895 Swedish immigrant farmhouse. The 40-acre property has 5 km of winding trails through prairie and woods for hiking, birding, cross-country skiing, and quiet contemplation. Guests are part of a resident artist community devoted to creativity, serenity, and learning. You'll have a private bedroom in a shared farmhouse The Clam Falls Trail, historically used by the Ojibway to get to their spring camp, crosses the 40-acres. The house is happily shared -- living room, kitchen, dining room, cozy nook, tower. It has three bathrooms which can be shared or designated as private. Your private bedroom, the Sunset Room, has rustic pine floors, a slant ceiling, and a west facing window to watch the sunset. There's a chest of drawers, a desk, and a walk in closet with lots of clothes hangers.
She is a very friendly and outgoing person. She is very easy to talk to and made me feel very welcome.
Kathleen was a fantastic host with a truly beautiful property. My stay with her was as lovely as could be and I enjoyed it immensely.
If you want a true historic farm experience in the beauty of nature, this is the place. You will be drinking well water, sleeping in a wooden room at the top of a narrow flight of stairs with a beautiful view of the tops of trees and flowers. You have the option of using an outhouse and there will be wild animals in the garden on this 40 acre plot. This is a lovely getaway for a rustic experience.
The room is in an old farmhouse away from the hustle and bustle of Modern Life. Kathleen has taken really good care of this property and loves to share its beauty and wonder with her guests. I was in the area for work, and even though the compound is more of an artists retreat I was made to feel completely welcome.
You’ll be staying at an 1895 farmstead located in a rural area and comprising forty acres -- 10 acres for the building site, 15 acres of woods, and 15 acres of open prairie. The farm has been in the family for five generations and many guests feel grounded by those deep roots.
Public transportation is almost non-existent, so it's best to have your own way of getting around. It's located about a 1/2 mile from the Gandy Dancer Trail that offers easy access to adjacent towns on bicycle.
自我介绍
I'm an author, educator, and proprietor of this Swedish immigrant farm. I've traveled and lived around the world and love welcoming people who appreciate nature and simpler living. My writing life is balanced by gardening, swimming, biking, cross-country skiing, and kayaking. I lived in Paris for two years, London for one, was a resident of Alaska for 13 years, and have lived on both coasts. I feel very fortunate to live at and care for this beautiful homestead. I'm available to answer questions, help people get settled, and enjoy moments of conversation if our paths cross (Website hidden by Airbnb)
