Nice place right on the beachfront, away from the noisy street. Internet was very good compared to other places I stayed at, important if you need to work online.

Guitar Bay is in a prime position in Arugam Bay. It's a short distance to everything but far north enough to stay out of the partying if you want to. It's right on the beach and the pool overlooking the beach was always clean and inviting. The restaurant and bar had great food and all of the staff couldn't do enough for us. The grounds and rooms could do with a bit of care but they are working on it. Bed was comfortable. Bathrooms need an upgrade.

Guitar Bay hotel is in a superb location in Arugum Bay it is in the quieter part of the town right on the beach with direct access to the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.The swimming along this stretch of beach is safe and most enjoyable although the waves are consistent they are not very high.The rooms are large with ceiling fan,air conditioning and a most comfy King sized bed also a single bed is provided.The private en-suite bathroom has 3 showers! a toilet,handbasin,fan and is a large size also clean towels and bed linen when required.Also a veranda with a coupe of comfy chairs and table offering a view of the Ocean The hotel also had a guitar shaped pool which is clean and well maintained…well funky Mohammed the manager is amenable and helpful and can also help with tours Tuk Tuk hire etc.Got any problems he’s your man👍 I can recommend Beach Coral restaurant at top of entrance road for traditional,tasty,fresh Sri Lankan food at very reasonable prices👍 All in all highly recommended accommodation
