After a poor experience with a noisy Airbnb near Old Bank on Bastimentos, coming to Bocas Villas was such a relief. It was everything we’d hoped for in an overwater bungalow- clear turquoise water, quiet tranquility, relaxation, comfort, and living coral reefs full of fish to snorkel around literally around (and underneath!) our casita. My father slept in the bedroom while I slept on the outdoor couch with sheets and a mosquito net that I bought in town (cushions were surprisingly comfortable!!). When it rained I moved inside to the indoor couch which was also comfortable. The only downside was the cost of Water Taxis added up with our daily trips to town (budget at least $50/day for taxis) but being in a more remote and beautiful area was worth the extra expense. I’d strongly recommend bringing your own snorkeling gear!

Our stay overall was awesome. The cabin offers stunning sunsets on the terrace and crystal clear waters most of the time. Only thing: the cabins have aged quite a bit and wouldn't mind some maintainance. Best thing for us, the remoteness (we loved it), also has a downside: quite a hustle to get there & make sure to bring sufficient groceries. Since you can only reach it by boat (at least 15 dollars for each boat trip to the store, one way ), it would quickly get expensive. We knew in advance, so no troubles. Also Philip organizes small stuff like cigarettes or beer to be delivered, shout out for that. Would highly recommend this cabin to disconnect and recharge.
